Wonderful class, I enjoyed every session and getting to know an engaging professor. His teaching style is different and it takes a while to get used to, but if you do the work, youll do well.

I don't know what it is, but he really has it out for specific (undeserving) students, and if you're one of them you might as well drop the class. He'll call you out in front of everyone for no real reason, high and mighty, sarcastic, inaccessible outside of class, doesn't email you back, and the class is usually hard to boot. Wouldn't recommend.

Delaney's a nice enough guy until you get on his bad side. I was taking his honors class that met once a week. I had to miss the second class due to a family emergency and he never gave me the time of day again. Not a single test was given, quizzes were ridiculously hard, and he makes you feel stupid if you answer a question wrong. Don't like him.

I echo the negative comments about this guy. He is mean spirited and totally arrogant, without any reason to be. Anyone can memorize Shakespeare. He takes the joy out of learning and WHEN will he ever retire??? He's a dinosaur.

Dr. Delaney is the best! He wants students to succeed and he challenges them to do so. His quizzes are tough but he provides enough extra credit to make up for it. His classes are all discussion-based so DO THE READING, if you don't, he will know. I strongly recommend his classes. (I've taken courses with Delaney every semester)

One of the most insightful and intellectually stimulated English professors I have ever had, yet his personality takes a lot of getting used to. I think he has a good heart, but over the years his cynicism has taken over. He has no problem making students suffer an array of embarrassment in order to make his point. Too bad.

Simply an amazing professor. He pushed me to think critically and write better. I wouldn't trade my experience for anything in the world. On a personal level, he is kind, witty and fun to hang out with. Don't let his long pauses get to you - he is brilliant!

Generally graded very hard on papers. The discussions in class were meant to be interesting but most often they ended up dying out because he led them into awkward directions. He was very polite and he offered us snacks but then he took them away. If I had the choice I would not take this class again.

Dr. Delaney is a brilliant man, and you would be lucky to have him as your professor. I had him for Shakespeare, and it changed my literary life. Also, take advantage of abroad trips if he is leading the mayterm/semester. He knows where to go, and makes sure you see as many plays as possible.

By far, my favorite professor at Westmont. Classes usually consist of very pointed questions that stimulate discussion. It's easy to be frustrated, but once you realize that he brilliantly ties the answers to his questions together into profound points, classes fly by and you can learn without even noticing. Awesome guy.

He is mean and spiteful. I am not just saying this because I didn't get a good grade. (I did get an A, actually, but I am sure that it killed him to give it to me.) He actually disliked me so much that he made me cry over his comments on my paper on the last day of class, and then later held back my name from entrance into an important honors soc.

Dr. D. is one of the best at Westmont. He is compassionate, supportive, and brilliant. He demands that you support your opinions, but will help you develop arguments as long as you are willing to share your ideas and inclinations. He makes the cost of Westmont tuition truly worth it.

Paul Delaney is one of those people you either love or hate. He is very intense. Everything about him is intense and calculated. What he says, where he goes, everything. If you can appreciate that, you will probably love him. As a teacher, he's fabulous as long as the discussion stays on literature rather than politics (which admittedly only happen
