Horrible teacher. Just because he is ten-yeared with the university, doesnt mean he should be teaching. Hard to understand what he wants on assignments. He keeps you in the dark about your grade in his class. Useless class.

I am not a very religious person, and at the beginning of the class, we talked a LOT about religion. He was not attempting to convert us or anything, but religion played a large role in antiquity. It was a very easy class, not a lot of homework, no tests, very simple final, and only four essays throughout the year. Take HU140 with him if you can

Class started off interesting, but I started to lose interest after the first test. He does not curve, and he does matching, so if you miss one, you miss two, everyone did bad. We have only had two grades this whole semester, so it makes or breaks you. Term paper length is not given, and due date is never brought up until now 4 days till its due.

This was a great class, however, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is not open to learning more about music. When I say music I don't mean mainstream BS. It's a study of older musical works/pieces and you really have to apply yourself if you want to do well.

DO NOT TAKE! Cannot say everything I want in only 350 characters..He is terrible and creepy, really creepy. DO NOT TAKE! Unfair grader, no published criteria as to how he grades, useless in-class "listening quizzes" that only hurt your grade, does not round/curve anything, beyond boring. I learned and got nothing from this class...waste of time.

I had him for two classes one semester (HU 146 and SS 325) and he really didnt know the difference if I went to one or the other, so I stopped going to the HU class after the third week and only went for the tests and gave him my papers in the SS class and I still made an A in HU 146...even let me combine the final papers! A odd guy, but nice!

This guy was awful. In papers all he cares about is grammer not your views and oppinions about what you are writing. I love music and I have an extensive musical background but i hate going to this class. One day he was makeing us create sentances and one kid said "I thought this was music class, But i must be mistaken" and that was the truth

VERY boring....espeically if you have a background in music and dance...it's just a reiteration of everything you already know. He plays the music way too loud, it gives you a headache. He tends to try and turn the class into a Grammar class after the first paper is due. Other than that, no problems, he's entertaining.

Professor Edson is one of the better humanities teachers at ERAU. I took music appreciation & had a very broad background in music. His lectures were interesting but very long. His grading is fair but his requirements on how to complete the work are vague & the work suffers. He's genuinely interested in what he is teaching! Definately recommend.
