As someone who really loves philosophy, I truly hated this class. These were the most boring hours of my life. His "lectures" are extremely repetitive. During the whole semester, he read the Apology and Protagoras to us, even though we could have read it ourselves in a few hours. This is an ethics class but he talks about Greek mythology instead.

He is actually the best teacher ever. He gives reviews before every test. 1-2 test, 1-2 papers, and a final. Basically just copy whatever he says during the review and write it on your test.

Paul is a great guy and a great prof. My only problem with him is his grading is quite unclear. He wants you to put in as much detail as you can on the tests (which I did) and took points off. His reasoning was that he wanted MORE detail. How much more detail do I need? I wrote like 5 pages on the test and still end up with an A-.

Granhan is the best philosophy professor by far. He grades you by three tests and one paper. He always clearly outlines what he wants for each thing. Basically for the tests he just wants you to rewrite the notes, but he always repeats things before the test. Definitely the professor to take if you are just trying to get an A on a required class.

Prof Granahan is such a delight! He is a very kind man who is passionate about what he teaches. Although the material is pretty boring, he tries to make it engaging. As long as you take good notes during the lectures, you will be fine. He gives you a notice before the tests and he gives the questions ahead of time and goes over them. He's amazing!

Professor Granahan is great! He really wants his students to do well. Every class is a lecture, which can get a little boring, but if you write down everything he says and memorize it for the test, you will be fine. Would 100% take him again! Very easy A if you take good notes. Allows many absences but recommend not skipping so you dont miss notes.

Very nice man, seemed very genuine. You won't get into any debates or vigorous discussions about modern issues, this class is focused more on classic texts. Take good notes and do not skip class. You should get no lower than an A- in this class. Goes over what is on the exam the class before. Take him for a relaxing and pain free ethics class

Prof Granahan is so nice! He tells you what is expected on tests and lets you choose from questions. Tests are essays. He will meet you outside class to explain anything you don't understand. He even gives the class his home phone number! He explains things so you can understand them. He lets you miss class. He makes jokes, so laugh - he's sweet.

I dreaded Philosophy before coming here and it still isn't my favorite, but Granahan made it manageable. If you show up, write everything down, and can regurgitate it on the 3 tests and 1 paper, you will do great. He is kind and truly cares about his students. He is always around for help and even gave us his phone number. Boring but easy

AMAZING guy in general, cares so much about students. Willing to work with you in any situation. Quirky and nerdy, but it keeps lecture from being too dry. Material is presented well, and he specifies exactly what you need to know. Very wise and genuine guy. Very few grades, take good notes and you're set for an A. Bring your comp to class

He is by far the best professor this university has to offer. His unconditional support for his students is amazing. From me getting a D in the first test for philosophy 1 to me getting an A in ethics, Dr. Granahan's support has been tremendous. He goes out of his way to help his students and is always there for them. He makes the class so fun.

Hes a great guy and wants everyone to do well. There are 3 tests including the final and one essay about Socrates that had a min of 3 pages and the entire class wrote at least 5. Very easy and he keeps it light with some terrible jokes that are so bad you have to laugh. overall its very easy if you just study the notes you take. dont skip class

Such an easy class but you HAVE to show up. Write down everything he says in his lectures, study it, and you will get an A on the test. Would definitely take him again. Lectures can get pretty boring at times but he likes to crack corny jokes which are always a good laugh.

Fantastic professor. His lectures, though usually dry, are nonetheless intriguing, making the material memorable. He genuinely hopes to see each of his students succeed, making himself fully accessible if you seek help (even offering his home phone number for last-minute questions). He reviews before each test, giving you the exact questions.
