Paul is extremely knowledgable, and really cares about the topics he teaches. I took his Vietnam War class b/c i had him for a previous class (history of SW), and I learned so much. His midterm and final are papers, and I actually had a lot of fun doing the final. I would DEF take his class over again- he's awesome!

Lyons is a great professor. Had him for EthnicMin and Hist of SocWelf. I didn't "get" how he graded until i had him a 2nd time. You need to know Dates and Names, but you dont need the book if u go to class (i lost my book 1st week of class and I got an A). Take good notes, u'll learn alot! Hes great, tough but great!

This class is HARD if you have absolutely no background in history/politics. There is a down side to the class because it is a seminar so you aren't really being taught anything you are just listening to what other people have to say. There are tons of readings, a couple papers, and an oral presentation. If you are up for a challenge-go for it!

Good teacher. Smart teacher, which coming from me means a lot. If you're looking for an easy ride, dont take him. I personally didnt believe he was difficult to the point that it was unfair, but he does challenge you. You actually have to think! Thats a new college experience. You will actually learn in his class. Besides that he likes jazz and has good taste in movies, thumbs up.

Paul's classes are very enjoyable, even at the ungodly hour of 10AM. You can just sit back and take it in, and enjoy the discussion, but don't get too comfortable; the tests are really rough and you _will_ have to study for them. Other assignments are generally fun, relevant, and graded fairly.

Paul Lyons is probably the best, most interesting professor I've had at Stockton. His classes are very casual; the kind where you can just sit back and enjoy the material. His stories are great, he knows his stuff, and he is helpful outside of class. He loves talking to students as well.

I have this professor again in the fall of 2004. He's an ok professor. He's clear with his lechtures, and he gives you chances for extra credit, however, his mid terms are a little hard. So make sure you study your tail off.

this is a class u def take with friends. sit next to them. midterm is really all that matters, its kinda **** but he gives a good review, after the midterm it is a sleep fest and u never have to pay attention, it is an easy P in a pass fail course.

Prof Lyons is very smart...Really makes you learn the material. You have to know it for the exams. No getting around it, he sees through any BS. Keep up with it and you'll be fine. I learned ALOT!
