Any class with Paul will be an easy grade. That said, don't expect to learn much. He is a tenured Prof who has become a little too comfortable in his role. He doesn't out much prep into his classes and is extremely disorganized. Do the assignments, show up for discussion groups (if there are any), and you'll be fine.

Extremely knowledgeable of pre-1800s history. His lectures are engaging and helpful. Uses a lot of slides but most of the content is not on them. Course has a lot of reading and it's hard to keep up.

He's a great professor. He uses slides for visuals more so than assisting with note taking, but hes super understanding, super kind, quite funny, and very intelligent. I would happily take another course that he teaches. Hes also a babe. Which is always a pleasant cherry on top.

I enjoyed Prof. Nelles' course very much! No, he is not a revolutionary lecturer - he tends to bumble over his words quite a bit - but he is incredibly nice, always willing to help out students. Just like any other good professor, get to know him and you will find it worth your while!

Best Prof I've had yet! Has a huge understanding and passion of what he's teaching and if you pay real close attention, you can catch him dropping some golden one liners in lecture. He only uses overhead for maps and pictures, so close the solitare! Deffinatley looking forward to more Nelles courses.

Very smart, answered all questions, the lectures were very informative, humorus, really makes the bland subjects good.
