Comment:
He makes a lot of mistakes on the board when explaining the problems which made it difficult to understand the concepts. Doesn't have set office hours which was frustrating. I gave him a good rating because he is a nice guy and funny which makes class entertaining and go by fast. His tests were fair and predictable, got A with decent studying.

Paul's 2210 class is very easy to pass but DO NOT take him if you're an accounting major. He isn't good at teaching the material that you will need to know in future classes.

Easiest class ever. Go to class and just go over your homework until you can do it perfectly w/o looking and you will ace every test. Yes, he messes up a lot. Yes, he makes mistakes. Call him out on it and hell fix it. If you cant get an A in his course, you didnt try. Easiest accounting class Ive had at BG. No book too!

Class didn't have a textbook so the "material" is PowerPoint slides of problems. Issue is, he makes mistakes on calculations or doesn't upload the whole lesson. Miss class, and you can look forward to decoding his less than helpful uploads of the lectures. Even going to class, its just doing problem after problem and learning how to do them right.

If you can teach yourself accounting then take him. He continuously gets off topic, because to him "accounting is boring". He constantly makes mistakes during class and expects you to attempt problems minutes after introducing concepts to you.

I really enjoyed his class. Funny guy and has lots of good/interesting stories. With teaching accounting, he knows the material very well. He makes mistakes often when going over problems but simple things with numbers. Nothing that will make a concept any more confusing. He takes advice from students and it is east to at least get a B in the class

He knows the material but not how to effectively teach it. He makes more mistakes than you can count during class which makes it difficult to learn the concepts. There is no textbook to reference so you have to go striclty off his practice problems from class. He is funny and can make class entertaining, but learning the material is tough.

He is a very poor teacher, so make sure you read the book and take good notes and attend every class. Go to his office hours for better help, although it doesn't help much.

He is a pretty good professor. Likes to talk a lot about his life right in the middle of an accounting concept he was trying to explain, so that's kind of distracting. He gives 9 exams over the course of the semester, which if you study, they are pretty easy. Also, if you screw one up, you're not totally screwed for the rest of the semester.

He's a pretty funny guy, but not the best accounting prof I've had at BG. His class is all math and problems - no "why we do it this way." I used the book a lot to reinforce the concepts, since he never discusses them! I can suggest using his office hours; he sometimes makes more sense there than he does in class.

Isn't very clear when it comes to explaining the basic concepts of accounting. I would recommend taking it with some one else if you have to take 2220 the following semester because he doesn't prepare you at ALL!

he is one of the worst professors i have had. he does not teach the material. he does problems on the board and always makes mistakes, if you have the time to teach yourself the material then take him. The only class that i actually learned something was when he did the very last presentation about life.

Enjoyed the class. He's a bit goofy and ADD, sometimes he will make mistakes and can cause you to get lost. Grading is fair and an A is easy to achieve. I would take another class with him.

Schauer is a really nice (and pretty weird) guy. However, just because a teacher is nice doesn't mean they are an effective teacher. I don't really feel like I learned much in his auditing class. However, he did pretty much guarantee that everyone who took it would pass, which is always good.

I had Schauer for ACCT 425 (non-profit/gov't) and 451 (auditing). He is not great at teaching but he is a really nice guy with lots of knowledge and practical experience. The reason I say he's not great at teaching is because his ideas are very scattered and he doesn't teach you in a way that prepares you for his exams.

He is not a good teacher, but the class is so easy it makes up for it. He let his TA grade homework so he had no way of knowing why you got points taken off.
