Enjoyable class. Some films are not prime examples of film theory and are just watched because their fame. Deals okay with opinions outside her own. Some of her material makes me question her teaching skills. Showed a very inappropriate video encouraging racial stereotypes. Nice woman, no huge workload. Likes class discussion and good attendance.

Paula is a great teacher. I disagreed with her during quite a few discussions, but she welcomes debate and encourages comments. If you participate in class and do the homework (which is super easy), you will do well. The final research paper is rather fun, if you pick a topic that interests you. Paula is personable and approachable. Take her.

Take her.She's interested in what you have to say about the films in class,& group discussions are quite engaging. Homework consists of "talking points" - they are easy, just stay on top of them. You'll hate some of the films you'll watch, but love others. Go in with an open mind and enthusiasm, and you'll do great. I walked awy with a B+, no prob.

by far my favorite professor at marist. she does take the topic very seriously and is a very hard grader, but she is a sweet woman and the class was always interesting. i would recommend it to anyone that is serious about film. (general movie-watchers stay away.)

For all you film fans that think this will be a fun class think again. It is very difficult and tedious at times. You have to basically strip down the film. I finished with a B but i started very very low. Good Films. She is a kind of harsh grader on papers and tests are kind of hard. Just study for the tests and ask for help with teh papers.

Yeah, she was pretty nice most of the time. Yeah, I actually did enjoy most of the films. But, the biggest complaint would have to be the tests. I'll admit I put in minimal effort, but she never really explained what she wanted on the tests, the clip analyses are rough. Whatever, I got a B.

Excellent prof- knows her stuff. Grades tests and Essays harshly, but you really end up with what you deserve. Great films, unfortunately the class is ridiculously long and early. I would definately recommmend Willoquet if your interested in actually LEARNING the art of film.

Such a nice, smart teacher. I looked forward to class and enjoyed the discussions. She really cares what students think and allows for any interpretation. Her tests are hard and she grades tough on papers. When you get a good grade in her class you know you deserve it.
