I have never written a review but I have decided to write one for Professor Meyer today. She is perhaps the finest professor SFU has to offer, she is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If you have the chance to take a class with her, don't think twice, just take it!

Horrible class structure! She is clearly very educated on the topic but does not teach instead wants students to regurgitate articles the whole class. Do not know what we pay tuition for when the professor does not teach, if we wanted to listen to fellow students for three hours we would not need professors!

Does not tech! Her teaching stye is not very organized she lectures for a short time maybe an hour then its up to students to ramble on about articles for two hours everyclass!The class is not difficult but its more like you are teaching yourself the material because she does not so she forces students to summarize articles every class. Painful!

Peggy is a professor with high intellectual integrity and open-mindedness. I understand some remarked her class is dry. I think her teaching style is more appropriate for graduate classes. I took her class when I was a four year student and had some basic knowledge in the area. I learned alot form her class. Her selection of readings are grt

I took a class with Professor Meyer and for someone who seems very seasoned as a professor, her organization of this class is very poor. Her 1 hr lecture is so dry, and it is extremely difficult to filter and decide what is actually important. The remaining 2 hours is listening to your peers discuss the readings. A nice lady but her "lectures"(1 hr) are so dry and uninformative. The rest of the 2.5 hours involve you listening to your peers regurgitate the articles they may or may not have understood. She is a bit tough on the mid-term and especially the papers. Overall the course could have been a lot better.

Lectures are very dry. She could use powerpoints or ask the students questions to keep people from falling asleep. discussions are lively. fair marker. I am sad that she is retiring soon. tends to choose one or two students in each class and play favourites. She does accept everyones point of view. be careful of falling asleep in class.

Professor Meyer is awesome! Took 2 courses w/her. It is usually 40% paper, 40% final, 20% part. You make your paper topic, she gives you previous exams to study from for final, plus a presentation. She looks for a lot of analysis & critical thinking. Extremely fair marker. Really kind, funny, interesting woman!

Professor Meyer is an informed professor. She comes to class prepared and expects the same. Extremely fair marker and extremely helpful. Exams are tough, get ready to do a lot of readings. Otherwise she is laid back.

A high quality prof who really knows her stuff. Being travelled to China and knew a lot about it. Though she does criticize, but always in an neutral perspective. I found this prof very interesting and engaging. Looking forward to take more of her classes in the future :)

knows her stuff and she's not only speaks about theory... but about things that happened, are in the news, tangible. She's travelled the world as a researcher, interviewed incredible people, etc, etc... completely worth it. If you like discussion and generous marking... she's the one!
