Comment:

She's a nice person, but I don't feel like she really teaches. All you do in that class is read and answer questions. She also marks up essays a lot, but she does give you the chance to recorrect. She basically wants the essays her way and sometimes the corrections don't make sense. Overall she's a chill and very funny professor.

Dr. Cefola is a great person and she is really caring. However, I don't think that she is a good teacher. She marks up your essays like no other and what she wants you to put doesn't even make sense. She doesn't know the order of how a paper is supposed to be written and her feedback on your work is just her re-writing your work.

Not great. She always changed the due dates of assignments. She never gave us clear directions. She would read our papers but wanted to change the paper to what she wanted to say. She just made things more complicated than it should've been. She also never graded things. The class is over and I still don't know my final grade.

This class and professor are horrible. Homework is answering questions that we go over in class; Cefola didn't each a thing. Grades are based on three papers, and her expectations for them are very unclear. She will tell you to lie on personal papers to fit her idea of an interesting narrative, and give poor grades even when you make all her edits.

Dr. Cefola is one of the kindest, sweetest professors at CLU. She genuinely cares about all her students, and is concerned about your life and happiness as well as your grades. She loves the subject she teaches, and her excitement for linguistics makes her a great and fun professor to learn from. She is also a fair grader who gives second chances.

Best advice I can give you is Listen carefully Write everything down Write it EXACTLY as she tells you Do every revision she allows you Linguistics is the study of the structure of language. You may have spoken it all your life but you don't know what it is yet. She is an amazingly brilliant woman who truly cares and if you give 100%, GOLDEN!

Dr. Cefola is the most nurturing and knowledgeable professor I have had the pleasure of experiencing, TWICE! She genuinely cares about the success of her students, and allows you many opportunities to get an A in her class. English may not be her first language, but she is the most linguistically-educated woman I've ever known! Fabulous teacher.

Cefola is difficult to understand (corrections and accent) but I found her to be extremely generous and understanding with her time and energy. I found myself in her office consistently, and she never once told me she was too busy for me. I will always remember her ability to make me and the other students laugh. CLU should be happy to have her.

You're going to be writing and rewriting papers until you develop arthritis. She'll practically tear apart everything you write, but if you listen to her feedback and make the corrections and you'll do well in the class. It's obvious how much Dr. Cefola cares about her students. Just do the reading, participate, and be nice. You'll be fine.

Dr. Cefola is a harsh grader and her lectures are confusing, but she really does care about her students. She will let you re-do assignments and papers to improve your grade. I LOVE Dr. Cefola! She is hilarious, has the best stories to tell, and class is never boring. If you do the work, and actually fix what she wants you to fix on papers, you will have no problem doing well in the class. She is always willing to help you if you need it. She's the best.

While she is a very nice lady, she is probably one of the hardest professors I have ever had. She is very hard to follow and contradicts herself constantly. She will tell you almost word for word what to write and then cross it out on your paper anyway. She wrote very mean comments on rough drafts and quizzes. She upset my so much I wanted to cry.

This is a tough course. Dr. Cefloa expects you to work hard! however, She is super helpful and lets you redo work for a better grade. Everything is done with a partner including tests! This way you only have 50% of the work to do. If you have a crappy partner, she'll let you switch!BEST TEACHER EVER!I honestly don't feel she chooses favorites.
