Comment:

Prof. Carlson's class is a solid example of how stats classes should work! For our class, he gave us the relevant final exam questions on the first day. He also gave several quizzes to test our understanding, and if the quiz material made sense, it was very easy to do well on a test. He was very patient in answering questions during office hours.

Comment:

Puts material into simple and relate-able terms, worksheets are really helpful but I would definitely do that homework for practice, since it is a math class. Missing class, you will be very lost and have to read things book, which was hard for me.

Carlson was a great instructor! He tried his best to make lectures clear and easy to follow. He doesn't expect students to memorize formulas, but his tests can be a little vocab-heavy. He truly cares about his students and their ability to succeed in his class. Would recommend to anyone or take again!

Comment:

Pete Carlson's statistics class was the hardest class i have taken at Delta. He grades really hard, does not get very many partial credit points, and makes you learn an online software. If you are not good at teaching your self or do not like quizzes everyday I WOULD NOT recommend this class.

Comment:

Peter was not a teacher that I would recommend. The book he had us use did give very great examples but you basically had to teach yourself the material even though you attended the class. Attendance does matter, make sure you don't miss a clasd or you will be lost, for sure! His tests are hard and he grades with full credit or no credit. A BIG NO!

Mr. Carlson was by far one of the best professors I had at Delta. He is there to help you and wants to see everyone pass his class. Very clear in teaching and always helpful. He gives plenty of time to review if needed and reviews what will be on the tests. Great teacher!

Grade is 100% based off of tests. No credit for homework or quizzes. Do your homework, and arrive on time to class (late students are his pet peeve). Ask questions in class if you have them. He is very clear, direct, and helpful. I would take him again if he taught any more of my required classes.

This is the single best prof I've ever worked with. I'm on my second degree and needed to go back to refresh my math. He is VERY skilled as a teacher and patient to a fault. I I could put clone him and have him teach all my classes, I'd do it in a New York Minute. Great Guy!

Class is easy if you pay attention and take notes. Use things such as the TLC when you need extra help. Im not any good at math and got an A in the class. He doesnt collect homework, but its best to do it anyway or you'll fail the tests and suprise quizes. : )

he is clear in explaining the materials but does not test students on notes materials. it's almost like he uses trick questions on his tests! Useless class if testing is tricky and out of notes materials.

Very great teacher. Very helpful and is very fair with the tests and homework. He will help you learn the material in every way he knows if you cant understand it one way. I highly reccomend him if you want a great teacher that will help you understand, and will be fair with you.

Very helpful, very fair. I took this class on line and enjoy it. Very clear on what you will be tested on. This way you can make sure you know the material. This makes so one you know what to study and end result you have learned what your suppose to. No guessing games.
