Comment:

Why is Peter teaching at Seneca? Many students have asked that at least once when taking his classes. He is by far the worst professor I have ever had. He rarely gives chances. I am excellent at writing so when he graded me a "C" I found that to be offensive and fought him for an appropriate grade. I dropped his course as his teaching is ridiculous

Comment:

An interesting and very friendly person but not a very good teacher. When you meet him he's laid back and friendly, he makes plenty of jokes. Sadly he doesn't teach very much. 2 out of 3 lectures we read the stories and discussed the essay topics and 3rd lecture we wrote an in-class essay. Not great if you want to learn or get a decent grade.

I loved his class. He is a great teacher and his lectures are very interesting. His grading makes you a better writer, and he's always there to help you if you need it. He's hilarious and very blunt so if you take everything personally you might not like him. I would definitely take his class again, probably one of the best professors I've had.

Expects good grammar and wording. (Very picky)Ex: Reads the first page of a paper and automatically marks it a F. In a better sense, the course is interesting. If you're into fantasy and an expert in English, you will learn something out of it. TIP: No matter how much you participate or get on his side, he will mark evenly.

Although, he is hard and picky marker, for me, it really motivates you to better yourself and earn the grade. He is very clear on what he wants in class on assignments. His feedback when written is vague, but clear if you ask him in person and he will tell you how to better yourself. Take him you want a challenge and improve yourself.

This class is all about essay writing. If English is your second language and you are not so good in essay writing, this class will be very tough. Even my English tutor said he is one of a tough grader. One reason why 70% of the students drop his class

He is a tough grader, yes, but he is VERY helpful. If you listen, if you care, you will pass. He is clear and tells you what he wants in the essays. Beside this, he is an extremely kind person, he has an amazing personality, a big heart, he is understanding and very friendly, a great person really. The best teacher I have ever had at Seneca.

I failed my first essay written in his class. At the time I despised him. I knew another professor would have given me a better grade which would not have given me the determination to do better and to actually learn. He gave me a chance to rewrite and I ended up a better writer because of him. Most people failed his class, deservingly so.

Professor Austin is amazing. He is a very nice person, quick marker but he is tough. But it is easy to get an A - just listen. He will go over exactly what he expects in each essay paragraph by paragraph; if you do exactly what he says you'll get an A. Just don't add a lot of "filler" words and cut to the chase.

Peter is an awesome professor. Though he is a tough marker he gives TONS of chances to everyone to bring up their grade and re-write essays that you failed. He literally sits through and tells you exactly what he expects from each of your essays. Follow instructions and you're going to do great.

Peter is great! He helped me a lot and made me improve my writing, if you are willing to pay attention, and follow his simple instructions, it will be easy to get a good grade. Make sure to take notes while he is explaining the stories, because they you can use them while writing the essays.

He is an amazing professor, and even though the readings don't always make sense, he does an EXCELLENT job at going over them afterwards and explaining them thoroughly. He makes essays seem easy; he breaks everything down, which helps a lot. Even if he is a "hard marker" he is still a fair and accurate marker. Work hard and you will get results.
