Beattie goes through slides that too quickly to get all the notes and he does not put them online for students to access later. Also probably one of the most unexciting classes I've ever taken.

Couldn't ask for a more friendly and fair professor, he genuinely seems to care about his students. The reading is not incredibly taxing, though there will be small quizzes at the beginning of each class to prove you've read. Classes are essentially just lectures and a few films, but the lectures are generally engaging and laced with anecdotes.

He's very good at teaching and very nice and funny but the class itself requires a lot of work. I didn't read any of the books but I still managed to get a 4.0. Just be prepared to do a lot of studying, etc.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS- ISS 220: Study of change, time, space and history of Latin America. It's impossible. I had to work WAY too hard to get a good grade in it. SO BORING and so difficult to follow. Switch out if you can.

This class was the hardest one I took, and I took an astronomty class at the same time. It is so boring, and even worse at 8:30 AM. And my TA was not helpful at all. He doesn't put notes on ANGEL, and won't give them to you if you miss class. He goes way too fast and it's impossible to take good notes.
