Honestly, this course is tough and there is a lot of material to cover. That being said, I think Peter did a great job teaching the course and his lectures were very interesting to listen too. Probably one of the most relevant courses I've taken in my degree so far.

Peter was a great prof who really wanted you to learn in this class. He was very nice and put a good effort in. There wasn't much that you got marked on, so it was hard to do well. He expects lots of detail in your written answers which I find fair, but can be hard to achieve. Overall a great guy but not necessarily the easiest class to take.

Without a doubt the biggest regret I have in university is not taking this class with another professor. Admittedly I learned a lot in his class but his grading makes it incredibly hard to get anything over a B. Class average was a C on our 48% final exam :). If you don't answer the question exactly how he would... good luck!

Peter is an example of what the legal profession seeks - hardworking, just, and ultimately fair. This class is not easy - many required readings and heavy papers. You don't get handed marks in any form. But the marks that you do receive are what you worked for, what you deserved. Would take a class again with Peter in a heartbeat.

He is a nice prof, encourage people to think, if you really want to learn something, choose him. but if you just want a easy course, don't go with him. The exam is quite hard, class avergae is pretty low. but he is a easy marker on essay, and the essay average is exremely high.

I am pursuing an engineering degree. Taking this course has made me rethink my career choice. This professor has been truly inspirational. Never in my life I imagined I would enjoy a law course, ever. Dr. Bowal is definitely not the kind of prof to give away grades to students (may be that is why he has some bad reviews). But he is fair to the core

Peter is the worst prof I have ever had. He makes me feel very unwelcome and expects you TO BE A LAWYER???? Im not (incase you were wondering) :(... He takes too long going over simple concepts and goes over difficult ones too quick. Half the time i don't even think he knows what he's talking about. Don't take this class its impossible

Amazing content. Students should be engaged during in-class questioning as this is the best way to learn as opposed to furious note-taking. Make an effort to talk with him before/ after classes.

Professor Bowal's lectures are interesting, and his stories are fun to listen to. However, readings are very heavy in this course and you will have to dedicate a lot of time into getting key concepts. Fortunately, prof. Bowal lets you bring cheat sheets to exams, which can be your saving grace for the final. Overall solid prof.

Peter is a good prof but I wish his power points were more specific instead of just a couple of words. It's mandatory to go to class otherwise you'll fall behind. Do the readings before class to understand the material. The midterm and final were extremely difficult but he does allow a cheat sheet, which doesn't help much in my opinion.

Peter Bowal is fine at teaching, honestly people leaving bad reviews don't have what it takes to complete a somewhat challenging class. He really makes an effort to make boring material somewhat interesting. Tests are above average in difficulty but by no means terribly hard. Go to most or all of the lectures and do some supplementary readings.

I seriously wanted to do well in this class, but having Peter as a prof made it IMPOSSIBLE. This man should not be teaching!! There was no textbook and his powerpoint slides were horrible. Going to class was not helpful either because he spoke way too fast and overcomplicated everything. I wish I dropped the class and took it with another prof!

One of my favorites. He still says hi when I see him. Some find it difficult because they study off of the powerpoint slides, however that isn't all that is needed. I'll give you some EXTREMELY helpful advice, type your notes and type everything he says down. The questions often come from what he says in lecture and not just what is on the slides.

Great professor and lecturer, but his tests are extremely hard. All the material in his tests were covered in class and is fair game so don't miss a lecture. He essentially expects you to be a lawyer when writing the tests. He is very funny as well and his stories are very entertaining.

This was a really interesting class and I enjoyed it a lot. However, this is a tough class and it has a lot of material. You must attend all lectures in order to do well in the class. The midterm was fine but the final was difficult. Overall, Prof. Bowal is caring and funny. I would highly recommend him and this class.

This class is tough with lots of content but it's also the most interesting class I've taken in uni. You really need to go to every class, but Bowal is hilarious, kind, and tells the best stories. To get a good grade, you need to participate in class, do the practice tests, and memorize both Constitution Acts. Awesome class and prof overall.
