i had him at City......he was very fast paced and did not provide a clear outline of chapters and could never stick to his own deadlines. hes a very educated man, but not at all a decent teacher....unless u prefer to work on your own and do not take criticism well.

Doesn't provide outlines for any chapters, and you have to participate in all discussion board questions and write another essay on top on your opinion. Quizzes are hard and vauge. His requirements are demanding and impossible to have everything turned in on time. Essay questions are hard. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!!! TAKE SOMEONE ELSE

LOTS OF ESSAYS! Can NOT procrastinate. I didn't feel the teacher was very helpful. I really wanted an A in this class, and teacher did not help much with directing me. The prof requires a lot from his students but doesn't give back much support.

I attempted to take this teacher twice online and dropped out twice! Don't expect this to be an easy online class because you are in for a surprise! Folks who are not too interested in history get ready for way too much history essays!

Took the 7 week HIST 101 online. TONS OF READING. Quizes are not hard but again, YOU MUST READ. Essays are not too hard but you must be able to write at a somewhat advanced level. I suggest taking either ENG 115 or 116 prior to taking his class. In 7 weeks we had 12 essays due. Overall, OK I got an A -READ all your chapters, it helps getting ahead.

Discussion board essays due once a week, must be active with more than 2 other students on the DB and pay close attention to readings- you have time to look up answers during the quiz but def is a close call. essays- he is a tough grader! I did not put alot of effort in the class so I got a C. But if you put effort in the class youll get a B

He is a bad teacher in my opinion. He was very unclear about what he wanted, yet he grades based on what he wants. I took his fast track class, and by the time the drop date had past, well he had finally graded the first assignment. He gives very few points, its like milking a cat to get any points what so ever, and very unhelpful.

Took the fast track class online and not bad at all! I ended up getting a "B". He has improved on grading and getting the results back to students faster. Online class pretty much consists of discussion board essay questions (2-3 pages), replying back to one another, quiz and tests. Just don't read or start your essay last minute & you'll be ok.

The onlne class is not that great. There is a lot of writing, but the bad thing is that you don't find out your grade on paper til way later cause He takes FOREVER to grade them; thus, you never know what your current grade. The test are VERY detail oriented and sometimes the questions are not too clear. Also, he took forever to turn in grades.

Hard teacher, but in a good way. Challenges you to better yourself, be prepared to write, and I wouldn't suggest taking his class during the summer semester because you will write a paper every 2 days!

I've taken Haro for a couple classes and he's great. He's probably one of the most available teachers i've had in many years. Yes, the class is a courseload, but it is college afterall! He's one of the better Hist. teachers at SWC. Plus if you get to take his class you get the benefit of getting some eye candy!

Wow this guy does get a bad rap. Took his class online and yep there is essay questions but it really doesn't end up being as bad as it feels at first. It teaches you to see history in a differnt light. Good overall.
