Comment:
Peter is very professional. He's an excellent scientist. I'd say he's fairly easy going and easy to get along with. He can conserve on many topics and is well educated in earth science. He's got a great attitude. He could be more organized for the students, but I highly recommend him.

I took Peter's class as part of the Geography of Polar Regions. Peter was easy to get along with and really knows his GIS. His GIS labs were more geared towards people who had previous knowledge of ARCGIS. However, with Peter's teaching, I grew to actually like GIS and get the hang of it.

Landforms and Lifeforms. Peter repeated his lectures over and over, and would be annoyed when students asked a question. His textbook was never opened. I wasted the money on it as he never assigned readings. Teaching is definitely not his thing, he acts as though he is bored with his students, and his job.

NW Landscapes: Peter's class maybe a titch on the easy side, but he makes sure you know the material. You don't leave the class feeling like you've gained nothing- you come out with tangible skills. He's nice, super helpful, and easy to talk to for questions etc. He's a clear lecturer and crazy awesome at GIS.

He was only there for two weeks but left a good impression. Very helpful and easy on the eyes.

Comment:
Peter did not instill much passion. He was just so mediocre, he was not at all inspiring. His student evals are unfairly based on the group work because I think he's too lazy to write individual evals.

Excellent instructor. Took GIS summer quarter 2005--within a single class session I had already learned how to make basic maps using ArcGIS. End of class had me doing commplex transformations. This guy knows his stuff.
