I took CMPT 300 with her. Midterm and final exam is based on the assignments. Our TA was Hoda, she was an easy marker and gave answers to all the questions you got wrong . MAKE SURE TO DO THE OPTIONAL THEORY QUESTIONS!!! Those questions will be there for the midterm and final.

Run the other direction! This class almost destroyed me. The textbook is definitely a must. Petra does not know how to teach and this course is hard enough as it is. Her assignments do NOT have solutions and cannot be easily extracted from her notes or the textbook and midterm and some of final is based off of them. Take CMPT 307 with someone else!

If you manage to understand her accent, the class will be very easy. Just read her slides, and the textbook if you do not understand sth. The exams are very long, but the questions are very easy and sometimes taken from the hw. I recommend.

Midterm questions are directly from homework, which is easy. You simply do the homework and you will get a good mark. Exam is pretty long, but the questions are not difficult. I didn't even buy the textbook and got a B. Her TA Hodaa was helpful and an easy marker.

She is one of the professors to avoid for CMPT 300. All of her notes are summarized points from the textbook. Her lecture slides has no pictures, just plain text. It is full of typos, mistakes and is not even complete. Her exams are pure memorization. The final exam consisted of rewriting blocks of text from the textbook. AVOID!!

I am a student from asia. It is horrible to understand her course with a strong european accent. Spelling mistakes happening in each slides. The programming assignments with no clue are assigned. But basically she is a nice person.

Lectures are brutal, her english is very difficult to understand. But her notes are actually pretty decent since they are just notes off the textbook. SUPER easy! 3 midterms, 2 of them are questions from the homework word for word (which isn't for marks or particularly difficult btw). Meaning memorize 8 hw Qs per midterm = 100%.

Absolutely horrible. I've never dropped below an A- in any class taken so far (half-way through third year) and I finished with a C+. Most arrogant person I've ever had to deal with. Lectures were painfully disorganized, tests were completely unfair. She's not just hard, she's malicious. Take the class with someone else.

I took this honour's course on a whim and had a pleasant surprise - it was actually rather interesting. Petra was quite enveloped in the material and guided us along at a wicked pace. Sadly, the fun ended at the exams, as she really makes them difficult.

Even though I thought her class was difficult, I wouldn't have rated her so negatively if she hadn't been so arrogant. She had a very poor attitude towards teaching.
