He is probably one of my favorite teachers at wentworth. He is really crazy and outthere most of the time but if you learn how to connect with him he is very easy and laid back and always gives you ideas. I ended the semster with an A- because I connected with him, made him laugh all the time and he loved my crazy ideas!

I wish I had went on this website before I took his class and jeopardized my mental state, gpa, and faith in the ciricullum. The ratings on here are amazingly acurate; PHIL (unorganized, late, definition of a tangent, girls get A's) 1st class discussion was who does the voice for the simpsons. *AVOID unless you want to lose brain cells.*

Had him for Studio IV. An average desk crit would be me trying to tell him my ideas, getting through half of the first idea before he interrupts with a story about his son, or his boat, which eventually leads to him taking your laptop and googling something, not finding it and walking away to leave you with nothing. Only there because of tenure.

At the start of the semester i thought he was crazy but then i began to see what he was talking about and tried to cope with his teaching. However, the only written grade i ever received from him was the 1st sketchbook submission grade. Everything after that was an estimate. My midterm was a B- and i was lead to believe i stuck with that grade. C.

Terrible computer lecturer. Waste's time showing the same example over, and over, and over again. Isn't quick with the e-mail responses either. Ask a question and he'll be impatient and not answer it. Very unclear, tries to be clear, misses the mark.

Has the attention span of a small rodent. Many class topics have nothing to do with the class itself. A typical day goes like this: Phil shows up 20 minutes late, i watch a movie or two on my laptop, maybe take a nap, go eat lunch, thats the end.

Yes, he's a bit out there, but that makes him different from all the other stuffy Arch. profs. I learned more in his class than others because I relate to his hippy style of teaching. If you like a laid back environment, take his class. All you need to do is communicate with him and you will be fine
