Easily one of my favorite professors I have had. He stepped in for our classes previous professor, and he was amazing. He really helped with editing papers, and ultimately wanted to make the class easier on us. In addition he made the lectures more interesting and fun to listen to.

Very tough grader but a nice guy. I got an F on a paper he said I was supposed to get an A on because I didn't put 2 sets of parenthesis in the citations. Doesn't quiz you, grades are based on papers and in class assignments. You have to attend every class session in order to pass class.

The only pro with this class was that they were short and to the point. The problem though, is that hes a jerk and he grades pretty harshly. He gives out F's frequently and he isn't understanding. He is also rude in his emails.

Hes kind of an asshat at first but overall hes a really cool guy. You can write papers about obscure topics and he will show genuine interest. Always email him your paper, he will edit it almost immediately. As long as you make changes, you will be guaranteed an A or a B

Pros: short classes, he sticks with the syllabus, will critique your paper mid-week (by email), I learned alot and my confidence in my writing increased immensely. Cons: While I appreciated the constructive criticism of my paper, I felt like I could never get my paper good enough to turn in, but once I turned it in, I would get an A.

Sort of intimidating at first, but turns out to be a really nice guy. He is very clear on papers, gives you plenty of description on what you need so go to class. Send him your drafts early and he'll tell you what you need to fix. Read the material-he gets mad if you don't. Class never lasted over 1.5 hours but go. Final was super easy. Recommend.

He was straight to the point but never really clarified very well. You really have to keep track of the syllabus. I was not a fan, but some were. He does always let you out of class early.

This dude is super sweet. Take his really long classes that are one day a week because at an average they only last about half an hour to 45 minutes.

Grading is subjective and not fair. Always finds something wrong. Homework is ok but annoying. He's entertaining enough, but arrogant. Knowing whats going on in the news is very important, because of frequent news quizzes. He prepares you for the tests pretty well.

Thinks highly of himself. Tests are easy. Read the newspaper daily bc it is easy points for the quizes. HW isn't bad. It was hard to get sources sometimes so start ealy on that. Show up, take notes, do the assignments & you should do fine. He will almost always find something wrong with how you write or your story so dont get discouraged.

As most people have pointed out, he's arrogant. However, he knows a lot about journalism, and I think if he was any less self-obsessed he'd be a bad teacher. He grades fairly enough. He's picky about some things, but I learned a lot from him.

There's not enough space to complain about this man. He judges, complains, goes on rants and tangents and then isn't around to help you even if he says he will be. You learn through practice, but making your writing better lies squarely on your shoulders. I'm not a big fan, but I'm sure a lot of people are... weird. He's unavoidable. Good luck.

If you're a journalism major, TAKE LUCIANO'S CLASSES. I learned absolutely everything I know about journalism from him. He's a little full of himself, but he's a smart guy and pretty amusing.

Second time I've taken Luc ... not a bad guy, there's some truth to the whole ego thing, but he knows his stuff. There are some who take his word as God's word, which is pretty funny. Just make your verbage work for you and you'll be ok.
