Comment:

By far the best professor I have ever had. He scared me at first, but I learned more from him than any other professor ever. I am so disappointed that he is gone. Maybe he didn't go by the book but I have never had a teacher who made me learn things like he did.

Just read the last rating. Bummer for me. Sounds like they fired Phil. I guess they didn't think he'd make a good Comrade. I actually learned something from him. "This is no good. Mediocrity and incompetence must rise to its rightful position!" (Pound shoe on table)

The best instructor I have had at GRCC hands down. Knows his area well! Conveys the information to students and you will learn it! Today I have however been told he will not be returning for the fall semester. I think the Biology Dept has done itself a great disservice by not retaining such an excellent Professor in Walcott!

Phil is a great teacher. Knows his subject better than any teacher I have ever had. Made the class and lab fun. He will give you all you can handle as far as material so you will have to work hard. As far as grading he does take into account if you are a hard worker. Hope to have him in the future.

Be ready to learn things his way. He likes to change what the book says to what he thinks is correct. He is a good teacher but he goes really fast. I did well but I studied a ton.Sometimes he spent a lot of time on things he didnt test on.

Very hard, Matcho attitude. Lec exams are very hard, he gives an enormous amount of notes, and you are responsible for knowing every little detail.

lab only. Difficult personality..like a hyper drill sargent. If you can get past his personality, labs are clear. he goes over the cadavers once&fast, memorize it or fail, he couldn't care less either way. very cold, unhelpful and cocky

Very long and grueling lectures and tests cover an enormus amount of material. Pictures are unclear and not helpful. Nice guy though, and good in the lab. Good for lab, not good for lec.
