Comment:
This class ended up being one of my favourite electives. Prof. Coppack is absolutely hilarious and grouchy. He is Welsh so that is just his sense of humour. He gives a very clear grading criteria and his tests are for the most part easy. Focus on overall trends and the "evidence". He is forward thinking and overall a pretty cool guy.

Comment:
Dr. Coppack's lectures were interesting but he is a hard marker. There were too much questions on the tests and not enough time to answer all of the questions. He does not seem friendly or approachable. The essay was not as difficult as the midterm and final exam. He does not give breaks during his lectures. This course did not boost up my GPA.

I'm a third year and Phillip is THE most engaging prof I've had. His lectures are crucial to attend. If you skip, you will not understand the specific emphasis on the topics of his powerpoints. His study guides are key, because he literally has test questions on them. The tests and exams are easy, but properly research and structure your essay.

He adds humour to his teaching and also gets straight to the point with his lectures and slides. I don't know much about economic but after taking his class i can proudly say im educated on the topic. You don't have to come to class because he posts his slides on his own website BUT i would highly suggest attending because you'll do a lot better

No feedback on essay portion. Tests are fair as he gives outlines on what to be prepared for. Essay is marked extremely tough, my average GPA is 3.2 and I ended up with a 2.3 in this elective. Had no problems with other essays in the past as I received a 93 on the essay portion in GEO 110. Fair exam but don't pick a 1st world country for essay

Coppack was great. Everything you need to pass the course is posted, literally don't need to come to class unless you want some elaborations on the slides. He's super into the topics, and it's an engaging class to be in if you like the material. Tests + Exam are easy if you just go over the slides - just try a bit. Would totally take again.

Clearly works really hard on the powerpoints to make it EASY for students to do well, gives study guides, and has all the material posted. The material is fascinating. Yeah, he does read off of the powerpoints but his elaborations are always great. The guy's great and can even be funny. Honestly I don't want to take GEO classes from anyone else.

I chose this class thinking it was a bird course but that turned out to be COMPLETELY FALSE. Coppack is a very chill prof but his lectures are super boring. He just reads off his powerpoint slides for the entire class. Midterm, essay and exam were all fairly hard. Overall cool professor.

Interested in what he's teaching and tries to make it interesting. However the midterm and final were near impossible and had little to no relevance to the course content he lectured about.

I have went to every single class of GEO106 and I have studied before and yes it is boring but the exams are difficult. I still dont get what the course is about. He is a hard marker. Everyone said "It is easy" No it isnt. I have a high cgpa and this would be the lowest grade i will receive. Do not take this course. It is not a gpa booster

Lectures are boring (don't have to attend to pass). Tests are directly from the slides which are posted online so the book is unnecessary. There's 1 midterm, 1 essay (topics provided to choose from), and a final. Definitely take this course if you want to bump your GPA, but you must study the slides well for the midterm and final to get a good mark

He is great at explaining concepts in a very straight forward manor. He does not ramble which I liked. He also split up tests into four which was super nice so we didn't have to cram the whole stats semester onto one giant test. He was also funny and made statistics interesting which is not an easy task to do because it is math after all.

He's a tough prof. There isn't two quizzes anymore, rather there is a midterm exam, which was tough. On the essay for the course, he marks hard. Content is off the slides; however study the slides significantly. Questions are very indepth and the options available are similar to one another.

Good Prof, tests are based on powerpoints, but study textbooks go intoa bit more detail. Attendance is no mandatory has he just talks off his slides. 2 small quizzes, 1 essay and 1 exam. Overall,it was interesting.

He is Very Boring, the material he teachs is very dry, he said i take questions off the slide. its 2 MC test worth 10% each, 1 essay worth 45, and one exam worth 35. class was boring wouldn`t recomend it if you want a high mark to boost gpa. (btw hes not hot) and i checked rate my prof before taking this course, not what i expected...
