Comment:

This class has a LOT of homework. Requires you to add your name to each discussion thread even though it appears when you submit. No other online class requires this. She took participation pts off for this, doesn't grade right away so lost a lot of points for this b4 anyone even knew about this requirement. Got a B instead of an A just for that!

Comment:

There are too many insignificant details that students have to follow, like the time you start an assignment. Be aware that she is forgetful and will contradict herself in emails vs syllabus vs grading feedback. All of her posts are filled with grammatical errors. The videos are also quite old. The online class has obviously not been updated.

I took her online class this summer. Contrary to the rest of the reviews, I thought it was a relatively easy class & I learned a lot about dance. However, as the weeks go by, there seems to be so much hw, research, and watching dance videos. Its very do-able but it does take a lot of time and patience.

This teacher gives an absurd amount of work! Its literally ridiculous! I was actually looking forward to giving this review so I could rant about her & how annoyed I was w/ this class, but in the end, you can tell she really is passionate about dance & really wants her students to appreciate the subject. Regardless, the workload is absurd & stupid.

I passed this class by the skin of my teeth. It started out fairly normal, quizzes and discussions weekly. At some point, the workload felt like it tripled and it was constant research papers (?), with no quizzes. The workload was excessive for a 3 unit class. Prof was responsive and gave thorough feedback, though.

She requires you to submit videos of you dancing for the dance history class. Has very strict grading criteria that makes easy assignments hard. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I am a 4.0 student and this class among the science courses i'm in was the one i had to work the hardest in not to screw my GPA

When I saw what she required I had a heart attack. It seemed like a lot of work but the professor is really cool. For those who desire to take this class, please know that when she says reply to 3 different people on 3 different days, she means 1 reply for 1 different student on 3 separate day. NOT 3 reply in one day in a span of 3 days.

She is really cool. Just go to her class and participate! Thats all you gotta do! Youll learn a lot of moves and you get to work out. Also she is very understanding if you have to absent just let her know.

Expects ridiculous amounts of work for no reason. Discussions for this class are due Sundays yet the assignments need to be posted three days in advance and you are required to reply to 3 people on 3 different days. Does not understand that her students are adults and have jobs and families. Makes simple assignments complicated.

I took professor Smith for Dance 100 online class. As long as you read the syllabus, you should do fine. The amount of work is fair as it was an online class (in my opinion). I would deff take her again. Textbook was required!

You can tell this teacher has no concept on how online classes a.k.a distant learning works. First off she would make homework due at awkward times, like a Wednesday which is odd for most online classes. She wouldnt post new material til after 1pm on mondays and often times wouldnt actually do it til tuesday. Never gets back to you either.

Absolutely ridiculous. I took her class to try to learn about dance (i am not a dancer) instead of the music class and i have come to notice i hate this class so much that i wish i would have taken music. SO MUCH WORK, and not to mention most of it is just stupid work. I have also contacted her and no reply, sent it twice. Never again.

I took this online class along with a heavy school schedule expecting to fulfill a GE requirement without too much work. She takes this class too seriously and the work load is a dumb amount. The specifics she requires is unnecessary. I've never received a D in my whole life attending school but got a D in this class... that has to mean something.

I recently took this class online over summer. As long as you read the syllabus and do everything with time, you should be ok. I loved this class. Textbook is mandatory as all work is based on it. Easy A for me, as long as you do not wait last minute to do your work. Highly recommend taking her.

Professor Smith takes this class way too seriously. If you make a mistake she will never allow you to re-submit an assignment ever. She accepts no late work at all. She also has a ridiculous policy where you have to include what time you started and finished an assignment. She also only unlocks certain assignments until halfway through the week!

Vague answers when questioned what you did wrong and what she is looking for. DOES NOT respond to emails. Does not unlock assignments until late Thur/work like mad to make Sun deadline. Takes FOREVER to grade. Tons of spelling errors in her writing yet counts off for ours. Easy class if it's your only one and don't have a job, family or kids.

Online classes are convenient for those who work full time and have families. This professor does NOT take that into account. She leaves little time to complete assignments, yet takes FOREVER to grade. She makes you type out the questions, turning a 30 minute assignment into an hour or more. If you miss one thing on an assignment, no credit at all.

I almost didn't take this course with her on account of all the bad reviews, but after taking her class I don't understand why a bad review on her would exist. If you read her syllabus, ask questions, and do every assignment you will pass this class. You may even learn a little. But if you are lazy and don't like to do work, don't take it.
