This professor didn't follow the text book which made prepping for the tests near impossible. She was very old school and wanted to run the material in the manner 'she's always done in the past 30 years.' Nothing against her length of teaching time, usually that increasing the student's success, not not so in her case. She lectured and then left

Comment:

She is a sweet and caring professor. Super laid back in that she doesn't mind if you show up late or miss tons of classes. She gives quizzes at the end of each class everyday which i didn't really like. All the homework is online and i found it to be pretty helpful. She didn' explain things, just gave us worksheets, but if you asked she would help.

She doesn't explain things well but is very willing to go over things more if you ask, just make sure you ask. The material is confusing and some of the papers make little to no sense. It is probably best to take time outside of class to get her help.

I've taken her 210A and her 212 course. She's a pretty good teacher but sometimes doesn't explain things thoroughly. She's very helpful though when you ask for extra help. Four tests not including the final plus weekly quizzes.

She's a very aged professor who knows everything about math and sometimes spoon feeds the information and then other times goes really quick through it leaving lots of confusion but all you have to do is use the study hours or ask in class. Some math classes you feel awkward asking a question not in hers. No other 121 math class could be easier.

Do not take this professor. She gives you a practice test that is so easy you go into the test days thinking this is easy. Yet, it's 100x harder than the practice test. She does a few problems to teach you in class but she spends most of her time just writing too fast making it hard for you to write and understand the problem you're doing

Prof. Phyllis is an absolutely amazing instructor! She is very patient, kind, and somehow actually makes math fun. If you are ever lost, just state you are & she won't move on until you understand. If you show up everyday & do your work, you'll pass.

On my top 5 for best teachers I've had. She's helpful and patient. Group quiz's almost everyday. Exams are difficult but c'mon it's calculus! HW can be added to your exams. She writes fast so pay attention. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.

Theres a quiz at the end of every lecture that can be done in groups and 3 exams and a cumulative final. She goes pretty fast through material but does go over problems (like hw) if someone asks. The exams are pretty tough and homework is optional but it gives a grade boost. Math is hard, you have to put in your own time to understand everything.

Math is no joke, you have to put in the hours of practice to get the grade you want. Sit in front, she writes small, she goes fast but stops at request. She'll help you solve any problem. I had to study all the textbook problems to get an A, but you have to work for your grade just like any other math class. Great teacher!

She is fantastic! She moves fairly quick through the lectures but slows down if you ask her. Sit in the front of the class because she writes small. The total grade is based off of tests, daily quizzes, online homework, and chapter projects. Use her office hours! The slackers in the class dislike her but good students loved her. Math is tough.

Sometimes she goes a little to fast on certain things and most of the students get confused. There's a quiz at the end of every class; sometimes when there's no more time in class it's a take home. Group projects for every chapter. It's a tough class, but she's always available in office hours. Homework is online assigned daily.

I liked her class a lot I thought she explained things well and I understood them. At times she would go fast but if you ask her to slow down she was more than happy to. Be wary of the final exam if you do not get at least a 60 you do not pass the course so make sure you fully understand the material.

The worst teacher I've ever had. She goes way too fast, its really difficult to copy the work down and watch what shes doing. Gets frustrated when you don't know whats going on. She approaches the class like a test review, assuming that we already know what is going on. She will explain any questions you have but i relied more on fellow classmates

Not very clear. I spent the majority of the semester in the tutoring center at mesa. ALL homework is online, tests are either identical to the practice test or have a few very irrelevant questions on them that she barely covered in class. Hard class but if you understand the material you will pass without a problem.
