The worst professor so far. Unprepared lectures. No feedback whatsoever. Half the lectures were wasted on presentations for which he didnt provide any feedback and just sat there so he doesnt have to prepare and teach the class. Grading is based on how much he likes you.

By far the worst professor I've seen in my undergrad and PhD career. Horrible lecturer, messy handwriting, inconsistent thoughts and unprepared discussions. The grading of the class makes no sense. You'll get an A, B or a C depending on how much he likes you. Avoid him at all cost because you'll learn nothing in his class. Nothing! He's the worst!

Comment:

Professor Baldi is one of the smartest people you'll ever meet. I first had him for 6D, and I was very impressed. He will make you work hard but it's worth it. I had him again for CS 172b, deep learning with neural networks, which is part of his research focus. The class was less work than his 6D class but harder content. My fav class so far.

If you enjoy lectures that only cover 5% of the material, with half the textbook assigned as homework, Baldi is the professor for you. The lectures WILL contain continuous usage of the word "obviously" when the topic is anything but. And don't worry about doing the homework he only grades one question, and if you get it wrong, too bad, no feedback!

He is the worst professor for major class I've ever seen. Facts: he does not use zybooks, which is a clear, helpful, efficient way to learn same things. He uses long, long textbook. He gives homework that takes u 15+ hours to do, 4060 questions from the textbook exercise every week. Only one of homework question will be graded,if u does wrong, 0.

A bit of an unstructured course, I personally found the lectures to be interesting enough (as much as math can be). Homework assignments were very long. Weekly quizzes had unpredictable content but generally simple. Skipped some HW assignments and got mostly C's on quizzes (above average) but there was a generous curve hence the A-. Manageable

Not good quality. His TA's were probably the worst group of TA's ever. No grades entered in timely manner, no clear explanation. Professor himself does not suffer with concept explanation clarity. Not an easy subject, but teaching it like this puts a lot of students on the verge of failing simply because the way the course is conducted is poor.

Good luck with Baldi. You're gonna cry. You're gonna fail. You don't know what's going on. You won't finish the homework. Satan just sent this guy directly from the deepest hell. He also looks like Michio Kaku, which is very intimidating. The first and second week was easy, so don't be overconfident. Starting the 3rd week, welcome to hell.

Discrete is a pretty hard class to start off with, so it doesn't really help that Baldi isn't the best professor either... He went through concepts really fast, but he's a smart man, and I think the smarter kids definitely understood the things he was saying. He sometimes assumes we know more than we do, so it's easy to get left behind. DO HW!

Teaches very well and makes sure we get all our questions answered. I learned more from him than the TAs. Do all the homework (even though he drops 2 of them at the end). The quizzes are a little tricky but doable. Midterms easy if you do all the homework. The final covered way too much, so it's rather hard to finish everything.

If you get phased by this kind of class, you should quit right now. This guy was easy, funny and had a good understanding of the material. Homework was extensive yet helpful and quizzes were fairly easy. Final was much harder than the midterm, but still workable in my opinion.
