Comment:

Originally a poli prof and it shows: grades much more subjectively than stem profs, doesn't believe in giving A+s, prefer class discussion/brute memorization to insightful analysis. The content is easy and he is passionate, but go with another prof if you want more than A-. His teaching style makes it extremely difficult to distinguish oneself.

Comment:

Interesting teacher. He is aware that engineering students don't care too much for sociology and political science but still manages to make his lectures interesting. I suggest taking his course in the summer; the material is super light and very easy. Also he explains EXACTLY what will be on his exam (he calls it a quiz even tho it's worth 60%)

Underwhelming professor. The topics covered are interesting but other than showing movies and reiterating what was said in the readings, he does not provide any useful or new insight. What he offers is very broad and not thought provoking ideas.

I had it in summer 2017, there is no final exam! You'll have to take a quiz (60%) + a group presentation&essay. Pierre is a nice guy, he made a very boaring course interesting, he played movies for us! He will give you all the questions and you can prepare very well, but the only thing is he will read all your lines, don't underestimate it at all.

He's the best professor for this course. I enjoyed it, the discussions were good. We got to watch some movies and not that much of a workload. It's very hard to get an A in his course, but you should end up getting a B easily.

Not a very difficult course for engineers. He is a poli sci teacher who teaches this course so its a different twist. He is funny and clear and is a very fair teacher. Makes the class interesting and there is a lot of writing but he really helps with it. I strongly suggest this teacher for ENGR 392.

Not bad. I didn't have much interest in the class prior to taking it, but he definitely generated it. Brought many interesting movies and he's a fair marker. He comes well prepared and he really quizzes you on what is seen in class.

he has no sympathy for people, whenever you ask for help, he is not willing to give it to you. What he teaches is supposed to be interesting, but it doesn't come accross that way with him. I personally, dont suggest him.

He is really into what he teaches. Has an accent but his lectures are very well presented. The key to success in this course is to take down as much of what he says as possible. Study your notes and read the readings from the course pack at least 3X each. Doing this gave me an A in this class.

If this course weren't in a basement, it'd probably be the best course I've taken in a while, but as it is, even though he lectures VERY well (despite his accent) it's dreary. He makes it as good as he can though, and the class is very open to debate.
