Comment:
The course content of 1051 is much more difficult than 1050, that being said, it all comes down to putting the work in. If you do the practice problems you will be fine. Always heed Pierre's hints, and ask if you have a question. Pierre loves to help, and seems to be more lenient if he knows you are putting the work in. He wants you to do well.

Pierre really cares about his students, he wants to know that you are learning something. His lectures are often hard to follow but he is ALWAYS available for extra help. Always do assigned problems, as it is almost guaranteed to be similar to quizzes/tests. Really nice marker, if you try you will pass. If you work, you can get an A no problem.

There's is no homework, and the only way to practice properly is when he gives solutions to some exercises which aren't enough.

Comment:
Dr. Rouleau's lectures are incredibly hard to follow, you essentially do nothing in class, and your tests are always based upon applying textbook concepts to problems with situations you've never seen. If you're willing to teach yourself 90% of the course, you can do okay, but the class itself is a waste. Avoid.

Pierre is a funny teacher, with random shouts and sound effects. But he does not teach the material very well, and no one knows what he's talking about. Most of my study time is spent reading the text and watching videos online because there is absolutely no understanding his lectures at all.

Those who can't understand his accent must never have left NFLD or travelled before. His english is great, his lectures are full of enthusiasm. He doesn't make physics easy, but he does makes it fun. He expects his students to THINK. He genuinely cares about his students as people, and is always willing to answer questions or offer help. Great guy.

Pierre is very funny. I don't know if it's his accent or not, but no one really understand what he is talking about at any given point. The exams are easy but the weekly quizzes are hard; the course is easy but no one knows what he is teaching, and then gives you 10 minutes to write them. He is very friendly, but hard to understand.

Nice guy, does what he can to help you out. He acknowledges you in the hallways. Not a great teacher, some things are left pretty vague. He can use the hinge on the door to answer any problem and keeps class interesting when he cranks up the vectors, makes a few sounds and hand gestures and pops the answer out. overall though a decent prof.

I found him hard to understand and a little too slack for my liking. He was usually late for class and spent most of the time telling random stories. He's a really nice guy and he's pretty funny but I wouldn't recommend him as a prof.

Has a unique sense of humour, and a good professor. The french accent doesn't get in the way. Well... one day part way through october I realized that he was saying "pythagorean theorem" :)

Pierre is an extremely good physics prof, generally cares about every one of his students and wishes for them all to pass. He's got a unique sense of humour, but is quite funny nonetheless. Don't come into his class and expect a serious atmosphere, he'll make it fun and enjoyable. Only wish the course allowed for more # examples. Really great guy!

Not the easiest person to understand, what with the french accent, but nonetheless a very talented and helpful professor. His notes may seem cryptic at first, but after long hours of deciphering, they will become clear. Sure, the course is extremely hard, but you have to remember that this is physics. Go see him if you have questions, trust me.

Very funny, eccentric, interesting guy. He's generous with marks but makes his test quite difficult. Needs to make a better effort at showing up on time and getting course material covered. Overall, very good professor with a real passion for physics.
