Comment:

Her tests were ridiculously hard, nothing like what she teaches us how to do or the online homework. I took calc 3 with Hashner and this class was 10 times harder than that, half the class dropped or consider dropping after her first exam.

Her lectures were pretty mechanical and plug&chugg styles. There lots of memorizing techniques and formula, but those don't always work and she often like to assign edge cases/exceptions on her tests.

I don't think she was very clear at explains concepts during lectures. She often makes mistakes and then confusing herself with an example. I find it hard to approach her and ask questions about her lecture.

Lecture is ok and hw are easy (Webassign, be sure to check them often) but don't expect exams to be like that. Professor is very thorough with grading and can be merciless some time with few partial credits.

Easy lectures and homework but tests are very hard. Lots of people are pushed by the time limit and she gives very little partial credit. Take her if you are already solid with class concepts.

Comment:

Took 2 calculus class with Mrs. Westlake. Simply the best instructor. Accessible, nice, clear on materials, very organized, stick to schedule. The only drawback is that the tests might be a little more difficult, but you end up learning something. I believe she's no longer teaching and is in charge of the Math & CS Division.

I had mrs. westklake a few times, and for any class that she teaches she is awesome. she explains in great detail how to solve problems, and she makes math fun! Take her classes.....
