Comment:

Professor DiPietro is one of the best professors that I had at Montclair State. He is very intelligent about Marketing and although his class is difficult he is available and helpful if you need to ask questions. I really enjoyed this class and recommend taking it.

I got an A in Marketing and here is how: get the text and know everything about the chapters he tells you will be on the exams. Sit in front and raise your hand once in a while, even if you give a bad answer. Forget BW and Fortune. He seems to ramble, but it all ties in with the text, but ignore that and focus on the cut and dry stuff for exams

YOu have to teach your self basically, two exams no set question limit any number of questions, do not subscribe to fortune or business week magazine, he doesn't ask anything from it on exams, everything comes from text so just read read read! and come to class and do little participation.

HE IS AN EASY GRADE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A GIRL. I WENT TO CLASS FOR THE MIDTERM, FINAL, AND MAYBE ONCE AFTER THAT AND I RECEIVED A GOOD GRADE IN HIS CLASS. HE GOES OFF ON A TANGENT A LOT AND HE TAKES ATTENDANCE NOW AND AGAIN BUT IT DOESNT MATTER. CURVES THE GRADES

I think he called attendance once in awhile... I don't know I had him freshman year. Anyway, he's a really funny guy. You need to know your stuff bc he'll go around asking questions, and he counts it as classwork participation and actually marks it down on his book. Really cool. Take notes down and study them and you'll do fine on the tests.

Intro to marketing.. very fun. he'll remember you from day one and don't think missing one day of class will slip his mind. just participate. "You never came to class but when you did you answered the questions pretty well, I'll give you a B+ (for attendance)). tests are impossible if you don't study, straight from the book. easy B+/A-

Incorporates marketing into his lectures well. Read book yourself and listen, talks about things that are on exams and if you pay attention you will know alot of answers before taking test through lectures. He has his personality whether you like it or not. An excellent professor.

you haven't been to a college class unless you have had the Dipietro experience. :) read the book, listen to his lectures (there useful, although he tends to speak too much onone given thing).. tests are tough, but if u put some effort in, you will get an A

heres the skinny.Go to every class, raise your hand, go to his office office once or twice to ask for an extra business magazine and even if you fail the tests, you will get a B.Any answer you give in class is right. The workbook at the end is so easy, don't stress it. Just get news articles and explain them by picking a concept in the book.=)

Just show up to class and participate enough times that he won't call on you anymore...even if you don't know the answer or think you're wrong...I got Ds on both the midterm and final but did participate enough that those 2 Ds averaged out to a B...even in the lecture hall he will know your face

Here is the manual for the class: Sit IN FRONT OF HIM, say anything (every once in a while) even if you think it's off the subject (he doesn't care anyway), DON'T make eye contact but give him complements and acknowledge his BEAUTY & BRAINS. late EVERYDAY, wastes half the class talking about his glory days and then keeps you late so he can hear himself talk more, grades on what you do for him, rude to men, lovely to women, obnoxious and needs to revisit his teaching guidelines, offensive, he thinks you are already a marketer and not a student. dont waste your time, its not worth it.

A nice guy but his teaching method is very unconventional. He is all over the place with his material so your best bet is to write down the key words he uses. Then start reading and outlining your chapters because the tests come straigt from the book. He covers almost all of the book. Also, expect to stay LATE most nights.
