Comment:

He was flexible. Love his philosophy in regards to teaching math, but got very little out of the class. I don't know if something was going on in his personal life, but we only got one assignment graded and the semester was very scattered and unprepared, by his own admission. I wish him well, but everyone in the class was lost most of the time.

Comment:

I was in the graduating class of 1999. Of all the professors I had at the Faculty of Education, I would say that Dr. Mason was probably the one that I remembered the most. Although honestly I did not gain much in terms of practical teaching methods from him, I did find that I gained much more in terms of critical thinking skills among others.

As a graduate student doing interdisciplary studies, Dr. Mason was a pleasure to have. He understood and accepted critical thinking. He asked questions without assuming I had an education background. And he fostered my contribution to the classroom. I liked him because I was there to learn, not simply get a grade.

I was in Dr. Mason's class in 1998 and I am writing this 12 years later. For all those that are complaining, wait until you get into the classroom. This man makes you think critically, allows you to open your mind, and prepares you for doing the same to your students. I have taught 12 years and his approach is exactly what the new WCP is about.

He's a great prof. I'm sorry some of the comments, clearly from idiots, make this guy sound like anything less. He has years of experience in the classroom, and he loves to challenge the way math is taught and the philosphy of the curriculum. He treats you like a grad student - doesn't spoon feed. You get out of his class what you put into it.

WORST professor EVER! Such a hypocritical man. Says that he doesn't like to hear students talk about other students or profs and then proceeds to name colleagues and trash them. Tries to make you feel small by talking in circles or cutting you down in "code". Makes NO sense because he has NO clue about what he is teaching.

Was the worst professor of my entire educational career. Was more concerned with acting mighty and pompous than acutally teaching anything. "May I penetrate you". Did not like to be questioned or challenged by students and if you didn't tell him what he wanted to hear, he would mark you accordingly.
