Comment:

He's not a bad guy but the way he lectures and teaches is not good. You take down like 15 pages of notes and are not given a review. You have two exams, one final. There are occassional class activities that can raise your grade and if you go to class every day he'll raise your grade by one letter grade.

Comment:

I took Physical Geography with Proff. Scott fall semester and did not pass. I only ever missed one class and had a doctors note. He rambles so horribly that if you don't have something else to do you will without a doubt fall asleep every class. He says he retired-- however he is still teacher-bad choice on his part.Bad sense of humor!

I do not recommend taking class with this man. He is very boring, and monotone. Gives quizzes on information prior to learning it. However, he is a nice guy; if that means anything. There are quizzes but he tells you in advance. Just read the notes and you will be fine

DON'T TAKE HIM!!!! This class is impossible. I am USUALLY a straight A student until I met Dr. Scott. I can never stay awake in his class, he repeats EVERYTHING. The only way I stay awake is by tallying up the times he's says "so at any rate". Three exams; you'll probably get a C if you pay attention. Pop-quizes MAKE SURE YOU READ.

I don't have a whole lot of bad things to say about him. He's a nice guy. We had three test which includes the final and we did not review for any of them. We did five activities which can help raise your grade. If you have perfect attendence he will raise your grade. The class was very difficult.

I had Professor Scott last semster. I didn't pass his class. His logic was all you have to do is memorize all of the notes and you will pass. Mind you, for each test, there are on average of 45 pages on top of four other classes and a part-time job?! I don't think so! He was also incredibly boring.

All this stuff about him being difficult is false. He gives you a full letter grade raise for perfect attendance, he announces the possibility of a pop quiz, and all his tests are multiple choice. Every class is an hour lecture, which can get boring. If you pay attention and can handle the lecture, you will get a good grade. Pretty nice guy too.

This Professor says the same thing over and over and somehow it still isn't absorbed. The class wasn't even about geography half the time. He makes analogies that don't make much of any sense, and he re-uses them. He beats a dead horse. Test questions are designed to make you do poorly unless you can quickly get used to his idiotic style.

Ralph spent two weeks on latitude and longitude, that pretty much sums it up. The class is so incredibly boring, keeps you there the entire time. On the bright side, the tests aren't THAT hard. If you take notes and read the book you'll do aight. Oh and if his assistant has a claw on her finger, don't be alarmed it's her thing. Just go with it

Dr. Scott is a motivated and inspiring teacher. Sure, he uses a lot analogies and repeats some things over and over again, but it's good. Helped to make everything more understandable. Also, if you take the notes during the lectures, use the lecture notes he provides, read the book, and of course come to class, then you'll do well. <3

test/quiz questions are a little confusing. to do well, make sure you read the textbook and take notes from it. the class is kind of boring but it's not awful. there is no paper so if you're a bad test taker (like me) i wouldn't recommend the class.

Dr. Scott is a good teacher. He's smart (he wrote the book), and knows what's going on despite his age. Most of the reviews here are by uninterested freshmen who have never taken a lecture, and thus do not know how to study for his all MULTIPLE CHOICE tests. Just read the book, read his notes online, and come to class (he takes attendance).

COMING IN DEFENSE FOR A GOOD TEACHER!!! Yes, his test questions can sometimes be a little tricky, and lectures can sometimes be a little boring, but if you learn the material, show that you are giving some effort in the class, you can get a B. Also raises final grade if you have perfect attendence.
