Comment:

Ramin is easy-going, laid back, and very funny. He will not do your work for you, but he will help you "connect the dots" for yourself if you go to see him. He has an accent but he is very easy to understand. Very knowledgeable and great at explaining concepts and lab procedures. I highly recommend Ramin and would take another lab with him any day.

Comment:

He introduces himself as "Mean Ramin"... but it couldn't be further from the truth. He is one of the most personable people in the Chemistry faculty. One of the few labs where I felt like I was learning relevant skills towards my career. Filled with sagely advice that would benefit any Chem major.

funny, approachable. Interesting content. simple assignments, arbitrarily marked (students submitting the same graph can expect 0-100%, with no explanation for discrepancies). Horrific final exam; 70% give away questions and 30% calculations, and minutiae from the lab manual. Anyone can get a B+, while A and A+ students grades fall.

Haha, Ramin has a wicked sense of humour. But he doesn't take any slack: do NOT break the lab report guidelines (hint: make your graphs and tables teeny-tiny) and be prepared for lab. He's got no problem with how you contact him either, and very helpful (though he might make you look like a dumbass, he's so goddamn keen).

High standards; wants you to learn necessary skills to be a good biochemist, not just to get a good grade. Sweetheart when you talk to him. Took a lot of risks in life and keeps swinging hard. Sets standards high because he cares for you long-term, not because he wants you to fail short-term.

Very nice guy,makes funny jokes while in lab.Willing to help you inside and outside the lab.However sometimes his replies lead to more questions since he doesn't want to fork out answers. Very quick-paced lab since he doesn't want to stay past the 3 hr lab time. Recommended instructor nonetheless!
