Ramon is very passionate about his work and expects you to be as well. You'll be assigned minimum 2 chapters from the textbook for reading per week. The midterm took place on the third week of class. It involved half the textbook, all readings, and all lecture and tutorial material to date.

You can learn a lot of framework from Prof. Baltazar, because he asks people to use those repetitively for a lot of assignments. He doesn't treat students equally. He can be very caring for certain students, but rude to others, as he discriminates international students a lot.

I strongly recommend whoever is referencing this to ask his former students in person, and they'll tell you how horrible he is as a person and a professor. I got that answer from every alumni taught by him.

If you attend class, are on time, participate and do your readings, you're guaranteed an A. Baltazar may seem strict, but he just wants to see you do well. He provides great feedback on assignments and motivates you to succeed. He's very fair and loves to see his students participate. One of my favourite professors at Dal.

Fantastic and caring professor. I was initially very intimidated by him, but I quickly learned that he teaches eloquently and comprehensibly. His course and lectures are meticulously organized and he really knows how to teach the material in relatable and understandable ways. I highly recommend taking a course with him if possible.

Dr. Baltazar is a fantastic prof. He is a very tough, but genuinely cares about students performing well. He sets clear expectations and if you want to do well you must come to class and earn his respect. That simple. Great course, great prof, I suggest him if you are willing to work hard, real gem.

He is condescending and horrible. He made easy course a hard one compared with other profs. I saw him once humiliate a girl in his class who did nothing but only use laptop. He actually did ask her to leave if she paid no attention to him. Definitely the worst professor I've had. Also, the marker is terrible. The lowest score in the class is 28%.

He is absolutely out of touch with what students know and don't know. He expects his class to become your full-time job. His lectures usually involve random "frameworks" being drawn on the board with no explanation. I'm not someone who whines about the profs, but, seriously, he's horrible. One of the worst I've ever had throughout U-grad and MBA.

Very fair teacher, I found I had to work hard for the mark I got. I'd recommend printing the lecture slides before class to make it easier to follow along in class. I saw him in his office once and he was very kind and genuinely interested in how I found the class to be and how I was managing with the individual paper for his class.

Ramon's professional look makes him seem intimidating, but he is actually very nice and approachable. Gets to know you on a first name basis. Sometimes over-complicates lecture material, but you certainly learn a lot from him. Assignments were time consuming, yet worthwhile doing. Midterm and exam were relatively easy, provided you studied the text

He's a good person and shows respect to everyone. He can explain things clearly even if the lecture time is limited. Your all kinds of abilities will be well improved after 3 months. Lastly, his grading standard is reasonable and does not depend on your exams. Good prof.

Baltazar is an outstanding professor. He is serious, but really helpful and ready to explain if you show interest in his lecture. His classes are based on the book and on his own material, which make students go to all classes. His evaluation methods are great because we do not depend 100% on one final exam. He is my favourite professor!

I don't like his lecture because it's hard for you to relate the lecture to the book. However, you have to read the entire textbook for the exam. I attend to his class because some questions in his mid-term or final are from the lecture. But is really BORING!

I took his course as an elective in my last semester before graduation - needless to say, I was NOT impressed. He attempted to make an easy course (and easy material) extremely challenging. He taught us things AFTER we were tested on them. I would never recommend him, to anyone.

Ramon is one of the only teachers that can talk for an hour and a half straight, yet keep you interested the whole time. This concept alone makes him a great teacher to have. My only slight beef with him is that he can be a difficult marker at times.
