Dr. Perez is an amazing addition to the department. She has higher expectations for her undergrad class, but is great with working with students to get them at a higher level. There is a lot of reading, but none of it is "busy". Her passion for the field and teaching are clear. I hope to take another class with her.

Be prepared to read 100-250 pages a WEEK, notes must be taken and turned in on discussion day. (You'll become an expert at scanning) DO NOT start the paper late and meet with her throughout your writing process to be sure you're on the right track or you'll be extremely disappointed @ the end. She is a wealth of knowledge and impressive, take her!

She is an amazing professor. Really makes you think! And this class will prepare you for all the theory that will be thrown at you in other courses. You don't have to write well, just make your ideas clear and she will grade fairly! If you are lazy, dont take her, but lazy won't equal learning :)

This instructor discriminates against shamelessly. Her classes are full of anti anglo rhetoric and if you even suggest that she is wrong she abuses her authority to put you down. If you can, take this class with another professor, one that doesn't have a chip on her shoulder the size of texas!

The worst teacher ever. She discriminates against students. If you are not her favorite then you are dead meat. She will not tell you what she wants. Even if she does tell you, then on the paper she will CLAIM that she said otehr things. She has a bad attitude. She is rude especially when you meet her in her office. don't take her.

By far the best professor I have had my entire academic career. She is such a difficult grader and will challenge the hell out of you, but only because she expects best. It isn't a cake walk, but her classes are fundamental to anyone who is serious about pursuing a career in academia, especially anthropology.

There is no doubt that the class is kinda hard but it was interesting. Sure the films are foreign but its an anthro course and it is cross-cultural (duh). She was totally helpful and helped me on each paper. I would definitely take the class if you want to learn something.

Class sucked. All foreign films, 4 papers, 2 tests. The final is easy because its the same as the first test and she goes over the questions she adds. Keep your scantron from the first test. The first paper was graded hard, but it got better.

Interesting class! Some people comment that she doesn't say what she wants in papers, but some forget that it's a 400 level class. I DID struggle with the 1st paper, but with her generosity and support I went from a 'D' paper on the 1st to an 'A' paper on the last 3. Attend all classes she gives pnts for it.

This is one of the worst classes that I have ever taken. The films you have to watch are horrible. You have to write four papers and there are two tests. The first time you write the papers she doesn't tell you at all what you are supposed to do. She is extremely difficult to please and doesn't tell you what she wants. Don't take this class.
