Comment:

He is a very good professor who really cares about the subject he teaches and tries his hardest to get students involved in lectures. He posts all the lectures on Blackboard and is a very easy grader. The tests can be a bit difficult but as long as you study, you'll be okay.

Comment:

Final grade based on 2 exams (scantron) that are actually pretty tough, 1 group project (short research paper) and participation. Lectures are dull but he posts them online. No textbook. A few extra credit opportunities to help out the tough exams. I would take him again only because I would know what to expect after this.

He is very nice and caring but sometimes is hard to understand, can go off on tangents when he lectures, as long as you know the powerpoints he uploads you should be good. Grade is based on 2 exams, a group (2-3 person) project, and class participation (taken by easy "quizzes" and attendance). He is willing to work with you if you need help!!

Super nice and wants to help you in any way he can, but the class is very lecture heavy and boring. One midterm, one final (50 questions scantron) and one group paper (2 pages). His tests were extremely hard which caught a lot of people off guard, but the grades were already damaged. Paper was easy.

Class was really boring. Takes attendance. Only two exams and about four homework assignments and a final project. Very helpful, i didnt do very well on the first test and he gave me several extra credit opportunities !

Very friendly and passionate about his work and always willing to help a student in trouble. Class can be a bit boring at times because the material is so straightforward and common sense, but it's fairly easy and light on coursework.

If you show up to class, do your homework, use the provided study guides, and participate in any projects, you should be golden. He's very passionate about journalism research and doesn't want you to have to repeat the class. Put in some effort and this is a pretty good class.

Dr. Wei's class could be boring, but you can tell he really enjoys the material and made it interesting. His tests are tricky, although if you go to class and do the study guide, you'll do fine. He relates to current advertising and even brought in a couple interesting guest speakers. If you want to learn, I recommend this class :)

Homework assignments were just busy work. I got a B+ (92) because his grading scale is 93 and up for an A. I think it is an easy class, but I am a business major. I barely studied because I have learned most of it before in other classes. I would take him before the other teachers because he gives you a study guide and that is awesome.

Making an A in this class was a lot of work! You need to come to class, do your hw, and bascially read the WHOLE book; he gives you a study guide of what is going to be on the tests and he tells you to know ALL the defintions in the chapter, and the important topics...so you're in for A LOT of reading..good luck.

Wei is a very nice and funny guy. He makes class interesting with clips from ads and commericials, short short HW assignments that take like 5 mins. He does take attendance. But I think he is great guy!

this class wasn't too bad. professor wei is a little bit hard to understand, but you get the hang of it after a couple weeks. his second exam was a lot easier than the first so try to study some. also he is picky with your final project, meet with him and ask questions. overall a nice guy, take him.

a nice and interesting guy but the tests didn't add up with the material, nor did the grading policy. one time in class i'd had some bad egg rolls the night before and i had horrendous gas, and this chick asked who reeked and one dude said, "it's the chinese on his breath."

Dr Wei is awsome. He is funny as hell. His accent was easy to understand and offered comic relief. His tests were moderate. You didn’t even need the notes all you needed was the book. I never took notes in the class; I just listened very carefully with lots of doodling and made an A.

He is a good man and is very nice and caring about the students. However, it's sometimes hard to understand him & his notes aren't easy to study or memorize for the hard tests given. I got out with a B but that was only b/c of extra credit and good attendance. Pretty boring. I'd take someone else.

Super nice guy! very helpful and very energetic about surveys! makes himself available outside class and prepares you for all assignments. would reccommend him over almost anyone else. And take him instead of wardrip for jour 368...wardrip is an ass&*%^!!!
