I have always disliked writing papers but his class was key to reversing my opinion. He is very approachable and helpful. I went to him before every due date and he would read through and correct my paper and tell me exactly what to do to get an A+ . So easy and such a good guy. Please take him.

Martoccia is a tough grader. His quizzes aren't too hard if you watch the movies, but if you try to take a quiz without watching a movie, good luck. He also has a "track-system" depending on what grade you want to get, and will annoy you every single day thru email about reconsidering your targeted grade. And you have papers due every week!

Do not take this man. I can safely say it was the worst experience I have ever had. He is condescending and makes the class get into a circular formation. Yes, every day you will have to slide your desks into a circle. He also quizzes you on the interpretation of a poem, which is ridiculous...

I took him for Interpreting Literature during the Summer and actually enjoyed the class. I was never good at English, but I reallly enjoyed what stories and poems we went though. He is a tough but fair grader. He is a very nice person as long as you show him respect. Quizzes almost daily.

Wort Professor I have ever taken! If you are in his class try to get out of it. You will be miserable. Very tough grader. Gives you the opportunity to revise your papers but you will only get maybe 1-2 points added to your grade. Majority of the class receives C's/D's on papers. I dread coming to this class everyday.

DON'T DO IT!!! Biggest regret of my life. He is not nice, to serious and an awful grader. Papers are very difficult and I have never done better then a C. He does not explain things well enough, so I often feel left in the dark when it comes to papers and other assignments. I dread his class and would not wish him on my worst enemy.

I love this class! he is a great professor. gives lots of extra credit opportunities, and in class assignments that are easy A's! go to his office hours for help on your papers and he will respect you a lot for it! the better he knows you the better you will do. love him and this class. easy A if he knows you're trying.

Professor Martoccia is the bomb. He is a really well respected professor and makes class a lot of fun. No final in the class, easy grader as long as you do the work and come to class. Only 3 papers throughout the semester.

The course is very interesting, but the assignments are tough. You have to read a lot from the textbook during the first half of your semester. Chapters are about 60 pages each. Then you have one long paper at the end. Quizzes everyday. The professor himself is really awesome, though. Jokes around a lot but still stay on topic.

Favorite teacher. Only homework is 4 papers for the semester. Don't read any books, only some short stories. Allows you to revise papers for a better grade. Gives extra credit. Takes attendance but allows you 3 free skips. Usually lets class out early. Funny guy and class wasn't too boring

Nice guy, seems a little awkward but obviously enjoyed writing and the creative process. You can write about whatever and he'll be fine with it. Read the book or you'll fail every single quiz.

He's a pretty cool guy, and the class is very routine. The movies are decent but some nights you just don't want to go, but if it's not on netflix then you better work up the motivation or else your grade will suffer. He grades super hard, but overall it's a good class.

Take this class if you want to hate your life. I was great in English throughout high school and never made below an A, his papers are ridiculous and what he expects on them are outrageous. I went to his office and made the changes he told me to make and still didn't get the grade I wanted. He is terrible.

I was amazing at english in high school, took AP composition and AP english lit. He was the only B I received my freshman year. He gave us an opportunity to correct our papers at the end of the semester, so I corrected every single one of mine knowing I would get an A and he gave me an 89. He is not helpful at all, and pretty rude.
