Comment:

I took lessons from this educator for 4 years and graduated on time because of him. He is more than a teacher, he truly mentors students to be better people, citizens, trombonists and in my case teachers. Everything he says and does is very deliberate and thought out, ambiguous intentionally always with guiding care and compassion.

This man is the best teacher I've ever had, period! Not only has he made me a better trombone player, but a better person in general. I see myself in a different light now. I understand that perfection isn't why I play the trombone, but rather because I love the music and the instrument. I don't know what more to say than he is an amazing teacher.

Definitely one of the best when it comes to promoting healthy playing habits and helping students understand the physiological aspects of brass playing. Do not hesitate to study with this man. That said, you have to want to learn ...

Yea very effective I believe he does find fualt in your playing but uses positive reinforcment as to not completly obliterate ones confidence level unlike some teachers in the department

Even though I left UNCG for other reasons, this guy is an excellent professor. You learn about music, but also how to live. He uses a lot of self-guided teaching, and it works excellently.
