Liefson is the best! I took math 60 and 98 with him as math lab. I did not have strong math skills upon entering the class, but how they explain things is so simple. All teachers in the lab are very helpful. Definitely recommended is you struggle with math. I was able to pass with a B. :-)

Randy is a great math teacher and explains everything very clearly. He also offers extra credit which is very helpful. The math lab allows for lots of time to complete homework and the tutors do a great job and are very helpful as well.

His class is taught in a lab setting, so it isn't like typical math classes. It's very self-paced. You have to ask for help if you need it or you WILL be lost. He is super nice and knows exactly what he's doing. Helped me understand the material clearly. He also offers mini lectures for students that prefer to be actually taught the material.

The professor was not available to help the night students as much as he should have been due to the fact that he offered "mini-lectures." He spent all but maybe 30 to 45 minutes giving lectures when he could have been tutoring students, thus helping Deana. It was very frustrating. Like others have said, Lab isn't for everyone including me.

Randy Leifson is a great teacher he really makes sure that you understand the material but the Math Lab isn't for everybody. Everything is self paced so if you cant handle teaching yourself and not being in a real class then this class may not be for you.

Excellent instructor. I struggle with math more than most, in fact I've almost quit due to the level of difficulty for me. However, he's encouraged me to keep trying. Between Mr. Leifson and my tutor, both very encouraging despite my own frustrations, I keep coming back!

I loved this guy. I used to struggle big time with math, but the way he explains it is just so perfect and clear, I understood everything and did well in the class! It was a lot of hard work, but I made it through. I had the lab class which was a great format, just keep up with the teacher and you'll do fine. Tough class, excellent instructor!

Very helpful. Lab lets you go as fast as you want or can take over 2 quarters. Pretests before the tests saved me! Attendence hours are easy to get just by being in the lab and working on pretest and test. Good teacher and helpers are good too.

Bottom line he cares about his students and he likes his job.I am 40 and have seen all kinds of teachers-this teacher cares.I rate him good and would recommend him to anyone.I enjoyed the lab environment except those morons who talk-these are the same people who are probably complaining about the teacher.

Randy really will not bend once he has made a decision, so if you have something going on in your life and need somebody who will understand and work with you? You wont find it here -- at least not in the math lab. Perhaps he is different in his regular classes, but he didn't even care to hear my situation, I was just turned away.
