Professor Ravi is a very caring and knowledgeable teacher. He is well-verse about the topics he teaches and he is kind to his students. If you ever have any problems, he is very helpful and considerate.

Comment:

The worst prof I've had in the History department, have warned my friends to avoid his classes. Lectures are scattered and often vague and unhelpful. Slideshow material is literally copied and pasted from Wikipedia. Group work was a struggle. Final exam was a piece of cake, though the class will be torture. Better off in anyone else's class.

Prof was all over the place during lectures which didn't facilitate taking notes. Reading the textbook is pretty important but overall the course is pretty broad and exam was easy.

This is the most difficult course I have taken at university. He did not actually teach us anything, we had to discuss each weeks readings, which were average 40-100 pages per week, and he would ask us questions irrelevant and lecture us on how we need to read between lines. He also makes 1 student a week prepare the class lecture instead of him.

He is an ok prof, but definitely not the greatest. If you come to all the "discussion" days, you get your participation mark (5%). He only assigned 2 papers (~2000 words each) over the term, and the exam was unreal easy.

I dont know where all of this nonsense about his dreamy voice and commanding educational performance comes from. he is not a good teacher. disorganized, dismissive of students' opinions, condescending, and generally obsessed with himself. Im sure he is a good scholar, but definitely not a good instructor.
