Comment:

Taking Street Gangs of America online was a great decision. I learned so much in the class, but there was alot of reading, alot! We had about 3 or 4 academic papers to read per week but it was worth the payoff. Very good content, very interesting, and Ray provided great feedback! Highly recommended professor.

Long pointless lectures. You don't need to go to class to pass, but he takes attendance. He doesn't teach you anything that you are going to need for the test or quizzes. He spends most of his time pushing his political views on you. There is no homework, but there are weekly quizzes. Everything is online even the tests.

He likes the sound of his own voice and talks about things not relevant to the class. One day he spent the entire hour and 20 minutes talking about tent graves. He will put this stuff on the exam. Overall easy class but he is a boring professor so avoid his class.

Requires a million books and never holds you accountable to reading them. Most of the class gave up on reading within a week or two due to the insane amount with no motivation to read them all. Lots of documentaries. Speakers are good. Only one grade- a final 15 page paper and presentation.

This guy was THE worst! Instead of teaching, he would rant about whatever came to his mind. He would take any opportunity to talk about himself or to push his own agenda. He pushes his feminist agenda so hard it becomes frustrating. There were so many annoying little things he would say just to show how "smart" he is. He's extremely unlikable.

This class was ridiculous. Avoid him if at all possible. His lectures were incredibly dull and he liked to talk about himself a lot. He was difficult to understand sometimes, as he mumbles toward the end of his sentences. It also took ages for him to help you.

One of the worst courses I have taken at UWGB. There was a mandatory 2 day field trip to Chicago that was not in the class description when signing up for classes. Did not grade grade assignments efficiently. Does not answer your questions in class. No exams, just chapter study guides and papers. Obsessed with Chicago.

Do not take this class. He may know about the topic but is terrible at teaching it. You will barely retain anything he says, and will waste an hour and twenty minutes of your day. You have to go to class because he may do a surprise "attendance check"/ make sure you are reading. My friends and I were excited about this class, but it was terrible.

i took this class because i thought the course was interesting, but after a week of being in it, i couldnt stand it. hes mono-toned, shows pictures that are not relivent to the topic, and the questions on the exams try to trick you. do not take him as a professor, you'll just walk out early if you do anyways.
