He's very intelligent and quite witty. He DOES make the class more fun, but on the other hand, he doesn't give much extra help. I agree that he knows lot's about the subject, and he can instruct well, but I felt that he didn't care much about the students. I wouldn't take him!!

Excellent instructor. Difficult class but the instructor is there to help you all the way (7 days a week). He makes it very clear the first class that you shouldn't be there for an easy mark. If you want to actually learn accounting you will learn with this instructor. Those who don't like Ray didn't "pack their own parachute".

To all the people who say Ray is a bad teacher they got it wrong. If your willing to work hard and show effort he'll help you. Accounting is difficult but if your going to want a career in Accounting Ray Brookes shows you the dedication you need. This is the real world and how it works Ray shows you it. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS.

He's tough, for sure. He docks you marks for stapling the wrong way :P He's a real nice guy though, willing to help you and even help you land a job if he thinks you have what it takes. Not a bad guy to earn a rep with (especially since he can help you later), but my advice: don't take any hard classes with him.

Worst I've ever had.He makes you pay $25 for notes which he could post on the web like any other prof and they are useless.I can't believe that he profits off his students. He tells you to study by answering questions from the text and yet his exams are nothing like the questions&his notes.I can't for life of me understand how is allowed to teach.

Extremely hard (for no good reason). He will teach you the basic in class, then throw you some questions that seem like from Harvard university exam on your midterm and watch you fail.. Oh. If you ask him question, he will ignore you

Hard teacher but very fair. Wants you to do good so he is there to help you night and day. Prepares well for mid term and final. Hard quizzes but he tells you what to study. Can be rude sometimes to students but most of the time he is nice. He is a good teacher overall.

Mr. Brookes is actually a pretty nice and funny guy. He's a hard marker on quizzes, but his notes and quizzes prepare u for the mid and final. Overall I think he's quite fair. Just do more practice excercises and ask for clarification if u wanna do well.

Mr. Brookes is one of the best accounting teachers at Douglas. His quizzes are relativley hard, but prepare you well for the midterm and final. If you want to do well in this course; you have to PRACTICE the material. Practice makes perfect.
