he knows his stuff but not open to questions. He humiliates students for asking questions. I stopped asking questions after getting yelled at several times for how stupid the question was. He made a really hard working smart girl in the class cry. It was awful. I would avoid this man at all costs. What are you paying for if you can't ask questions?

I am a math major with almost straight A's. Prof. Gittings does not like himself, what he does for a living, or any student that enters his class. I am not stupid, but this guy tries to make everyone feel stupid. I thought math was cool until he showed me how wrong I was. The other professors are a lot better I hear.

Although difficult at times to understand, understands mathematics well. You will learn a lot from him, if you want to learn a lot. Not an easy A, but definitely makes you interested in calculus

This guy definitely knows his stuff no doubt, but he's intimidating.His exams are hard, although he begs to differ.The questions from the book are easier.Basically regurgitates the theorems and proves them, hardly gives examples. 3 exams, drops the lowest grade+final. DO well on the first two exams, third exam super hard!

He is a fair professor for a subject as unforgiving as calculus. He has a good sense of humour and is leanent if you dont take him for granted. If you are patient with him, he will be likewise. Be in class, bring whatever you need to pay attention, and do the hw because it all pays off.

Oh Gosh! This is the worst prof I had. He yells at u, makes u feel stupid when u ask questions, rubs your flaws in your face, NO test practice, and the chap is so old he says 10 and writes 4; making u write the wrong thing. He made this girl cry in my class and she dropped it. He doesnt care about anyone. Take my advice STAY FAAARRRR AWAY FROM HIM.

This guy thinks explaining more clearly means talking LOUDER. He despises students and he is not a happy person and obviously does not like what he does. He is terrible. He actually yells at you for asking a question. It's hard to find a good professor in math at Brooklyn college, though.

This is a very clear easy going professor. Very concise in his notes, hilarious sense of humor, and he gives a rats ass about the kids. I had him and I loved the course. He's an excellent teacher, his tests are straightforward, and he does not want to trick the students. I highly recommend him.

Amazing professor.. very clear, concise and to the point. Doesn't make us memorize a lot of crap. Tests are straightforward and he's not out to deceive the students. Study, use his notes, do HW, and you'll be fine. I highly recommend him.
