Attendance is mandatory for students, but it's not mandatory for the professor. He cancelled 10 of my classes in the semester that I had him. Share the book if you can. The class isn't hard, it's just boring and he likes to pick fights with his students. Just show up and turn your essays in on time and you'll be fine.

He takes attendance every time, but cancels class a lot. You will use the textbook most classes, but if you know a friend who has it you can just look off of theirs and not spend the money. His classes are very boring and will put you to sleep let alone the fact that he randomly mumbles on about random stuff. Easy A though.

The hardest part of this class, is sitting through it. You have 4 essays and he usually gives everyone a B. If you have this class with a friend, buy the textbook together and share it because any book assignments are in class and with a partner. He talks with his eye closed and very monotone so it is hard to stay awake but attendance is key

Dr. Tumbleson is the most monotone professor. Although I like both Tolkien and Lewis, I honestly stopped reading half way through the course and my attendance was sparse- sitting through his class felt like being in jail. He also argued another student that referring to mentally handicapped people as retarded is okay when she said it wasn't.

Dr. Tumbleson is the most boring human being I have ever met. The only reason attendance is mandatory is because if it wasnt no one would show up. He spends the entire class mumbling about things completely irrelevant to what were working on in class. Half the time the class has no idea what hes talking about. I do not recommend.

I love Austen lit, but being in this class made me start to hate it. During our Pride and Prejudice unit, he FELL ASLEEP as we watched different versions of it. Not to mention he sounds like his voice is putting his face to sleep. Maybe I have to see how he is in other classes, but this class was unbearable and I dropped it. Cool guy, bad class.

The most difficult part of class is trying to stay awake during it. He makes attendance mandatory because he is too boring to get people to come. Skip class and he deducts huge chunks from your final grade. Don't buy the book, you will literally sparknote everything. He gives you essay prompts for the mid term. Class is irrelevant.

This class was admittedly really really REALLY easy. Sometimes you didn't even really have to read the books to get a positive grade on the discussions or even the Mid-Term or Final. The class is still really interesting, though! Professor doesn't even use D2L, though, and it's difficult to contact him outside class. He's very laid back.

Sci-Fi lit was SO easy. There is a lot that you have to read, but the discussions in class are so vague that you don't even have to read them to participate. Personal responses to each book as a grade, which he only checks as done or not done. The midterm and final are all your opinion. Easy class to fill up any gen-eds.

You will learn nothing in this class. Attendance is mandatory but I fell asleep in class most days. You do not need to read the assignments except for the final paper, as all he does is rambles about the author's background and the time period all class. Midterm and final are graded very easily.

Had him for Brit Lit, so boring!!! The man knows so much and is very brilliant, but lacks relationship with his students. I caught myself falling asleep during class. I managed to get a B- which is impressive considering I hardly read the assignments. Only has about 4 grades for the entire semester.

very akward and rambles a lot !! not one of my favorite classes because he's very boring, but his assignments are easy and he's an easier grader than some of my high school teachers, and as long as you show up you'll pass. Reminds me of a junior high class

Dr. Tumbleson is really the nicest guy. He is quirky and babbles a lot, but he knows and accepts that. He is fair and is very intelligent. I probably wouldn't take another class of his because he is very sleepy-making. But he is very very kind.

He's very nice and occasionally pops a joke that's hilarious, but he talks the whole class, most of the time not even on topic. Just show up and read and you'll be fine. Only grades are attendance, midterm, final, and a term paper. Simple as that.

Dr. Raymond "TUMBLEWEED" Tumbleson! This man does not stop talking! He goes on and on with nothing really important to say. He is very nice, but is incredibly awkward to talk to. He takes attendance, but besides that he doesn't bother to check if the ENTIRE CLASS is asleep. All you have to do is show up, do your work, and you'll probably get an A.

I had Dr. Tumbleson for a seminar in British Literature, and I was extremely excited to study because, come on, what English major doesn't like British literature? He knows a lot about 18th century lit. However, the reading list was absolutely the most banal, uncritical, irrelevant material I have ever encountered in college.

It is great that this class is offered. I Love sci-fi..and u must if u take this class. If it bores you stay away. He knows his stuff but a little too well in this case as his personal view on works will get in the way of discussion. Attendance is 20% so show up. That being said vry easy english class and alot of fun. would take every year

BORING. He does not stop talking, ever. He's very awkward. Basically a high school class-- read the book, have him ramble about plot (not even anything significant like symbolism, ect.) watch a movie, repeat. Mandatory attendance. I just brought other work to do.

Jesus, where do i begin. The man is a rambler. Goes ON AND ON about absolutely nothing. Very nice, but is a extremely awkward to say the least. I received all A's on my papers.. which you will have to write about 5 for the entire semester. Show up and you'll get points. He takes attendance! Try not to fall asleep when you have writing workshops
