Comment:
Dr. Edwards is an absolutely phenomenal professor. Although the class is mostly lecture, it very much is an open forum for discussion. There is not much homework and the homework that is assigned is fairly short readings that are talked about in class the next day. She also tells hilarious but relevant stories in class, which are simply fantastic.

You have to show up to classes, she passes around a sign in sheet. This class has no tests or quizzes, there are only 3 short essays throughout the semester. Other than that there were a few short readings for homework but you could get by without reading them if you ever took a history class before.

Dumb class, all we did was look at her family tree and write papers about it. She tried to make it interesting, but eh.

History of baseball, great class. I had no interest in baseball. Passed the class with ease. Never spoke, the entire class is basically lecture but it doesn't put you to sleep. She is very passionate about this class and loves to teach about baseball.

She is very opinionated, and if you don't agree with her, you're wrong. She gave me an opinion C- on a paper because she didn't agree with me on my opinion. Also, there are next to no guidelines for any of the papers. On the plus side you can show up late for class because she is always around 10 minutes late herself.

She doesn't believe in giving exams because not all people are test takers. She wanted very much for people to be involved in class. You don't have to buy a book which is nice, but you do have to do all of the reading online (which really hurts my eyes). But get ready to read for every class

Comment:
All she do is talk too much during the class and no tests, quizzes and exams except only 2 papers and projects. It wouldn't be helpful for you to get A for this course since i thought it is easy to pass but NOT. She is very harsh on the grading system and flexible on attendance, and optional assignment. It is hurting on your grade to fail this.

She talks way too much, goes off on tangents. She grades really harshly because she thinks that all students should have the same writing abilities that she does. She did give out two extra credit assignments though. Wouldn't take her again.

Was so excited to take this class. She just talked the whole time and went on tangents. Wasn't helpful at all and winded up hating the class. Don't suggest a class with her.

She is very passionate about baseball, so it makes the class more fun. The textbook is useless, so I'm glad it's cheap. The only problem I had is that she talks the entire time, and if you miss a point or a name, you're screwed on the notes. Hopefully she gets a study guide. We always got out early, which was awesome!

She knows what she's talking about but goes off on tangents and can get quite boring with the lectures - she just speaks with no visualizations - as much as I am a die-hard baseball fan. Women teaching baseball - don't know how I feel about that.

She's pretty biased in her essays. She only offered two essays, all were worth 30%, the remaining 10% was participation. First two essays, my opinion conflicted with hers and I got a C. The last essay, I changed my opinion to conform with hers and I got a B. It kind of says something.

Had her for American History:History of Baseball. She knows her stuff well, obvious red sox fan(though i didn't mind as i hate the yankees anyways). Grades pretty easy, oppertunites for extra credit, class doesn't usually last the full time, decent professor
