Kind of whacky but very chill (lets us out early most classes, only gives quizzes if we are prepared for them, etc). She uses the textbook to teach and sometimes I'm not really sure what's happening, but she prepares us for the quizzes and grades them fairly. Definitely take this class for some basic theory knowledge or in preparation for Music 261

Comment:

Professor Troxler is a great professor who cares about her students. She is sort of absent-minded but she likes what she does so I guess it's okay. This class is a good break from other hardcore classes. It's very enjoyable and not much work.

Comment:

Although she is sometimes not organized and it takes her awhile to grade, she is easily one of the best professors at Duke. She cares very much about her subject and teaches it well. She focuses on the necessary elements that you need to learn and tries to make the subject interesting, even though it is dry at times.
