I love Dr. Wheeler. All of her tests and quizzes are online, including the final. Her lectures are great. If you take good notes and pay attention in class, you'll do really well. Just don't miss class.

Honestly a really easy class. You don't really have to read, but she may ask you questions about it so have a general idea. If you show up and spend some time writing the papers you will be fine. She is very caring and her class is interesting.

Worst professor I had at CNU. She made her tests so difficult because she loves to ask trick questions. My mom is a speech-language pathologist and we took her online final together so I wouldn't fail. I never missed a class, took good notes, and did all her assigned readings. Would never recommend her and she's the only one who teaches ENGL310.

Dr. Wheeler is a challenging, intelligent, and inspirational professor. She takes a bit of getting used to - she doesn't understand jokes or sarcasm, but is very caring and quirky. Some people think she's condescending, but some people are really dumb - she will help even the slowest learner fix the problem, and helps others in the process. 3 her

Dr. Wheeler was a great professor for First Year Writing. She was always open to answer any questions we had about our assignments, and liked students to come to her office hours to discuss papers. She was also pretty flexible with moving deadlines.

You can clearly see the shift from those who know what college is really about - actually working - to those that simply do not want to work for anything/want things handed to them (i.e. the most recent comments). Dr. Wheeler was amazing. She makes you work, yes, but you actually get something out of the class and are getting what you paid for.

Dr. Wheeler comes across as very condescending. She calls students out in class non-stop. In papers, she expects you to have flawless writing. This isn't necessarily bad because, obviously, it's college. But most of us were not English majors and I found that she was very inconsiderate of students struggling or having different writing styles.

Dr. Wheeler encourages going to her office or emailing for help, but then will be condescending and arrogant with her reply's. She is very picky about papers. She calls people out in class. She definitely does not take into account the different learning styles of every student. She essentially expects you to teach yourself everything.

She is condescending, frustrating, and unclear. She likes to call people out in class like we're in middle school. Everything is open book and online, but that means you have to take your personal time to take her tests and quizzes. Reading quizzes can really hurt your grade. I would not recommend her but she's the only one who teaches ENGL 310.

One of the worst classes and professors I've taken, not engaging, scatterbrained, generally rude and abrasive in class and during office hours, would not recommend for Linguistics or any other course.

Linguistics with her was fun and easy because she made it so interesting. She's quite the character. If you have the opportunity to take this class, DO IT!!! I would gladly take anything else she taught. I showed interest and she nurtured me. Her distaste for linguistic pedantry may rub off on you, but I'd say that's a healthy linguistic habit.

She was not able to keep my interest in the subject matter. I felt like we talked about the same things over and over again. The test were incredibly hard, but the "scavenger hunts" (quizzes) were a piece of cake.

Loved Dr. Wheeler for 430, but she's pretty scatterbrained with Linguistics. The questions on the tests are often things she hasn't mentioned in class. She's aware of this but very defensive. She'll ask for input and then be very condescending and ignore your input. The subject is very interesting but could be better if presented differently.
