I know a lot of people who took FACS 1900 and hated it. They didn't have Professor Wickens. Her lectures were amazing. She had an incredible way of weaving real-life examples together with theory - often bringing in current examples from the news. I still remember the lecture she gave just after 911 about 'punctum'.

Very knowledgable person, but her lectures were confusing, disorganized, and very boring. Course kit readings were interesting. She's not very approachable, uses intimidation and threats to control the class. Not the worst, but not recommended. Try to get another prof for facs.

obvious that she has 'favourite' students. Does not treat everyone equally/fairly. Dry speaker, not interesting. Thank god i had a really helpful TA and pulled off a B overall, otherwise would have failed. Avoid this prof!

WORST PROF I'VE EVER HAD. Is rude and ignores you when you try and talk to her. Takes weeks to respond to emails. I didn't learn anything from this course. Complete waste of time. Final projects are either a paper or a "creative" project. She praised ridiculously amateurish projects while papers recieved low grades.

Interesting...? I didn't appreciate the way she tended to resort to strange bullying/ intimidation tactics to keep the class under her control. However, she's very knowledgeable about photography (not as much about film). Probably just old teacher syndrome. Not awful, but I don't recommend her.

Be warned!Her classes are useless!She is boring and unbearable to listen to.Her exam questions are extremely stupid!! It?s nothing you expect! Nothing you will study be in the ?quiz?if more than half of the class fails it means she is a horrible prof, but she is too stupid to get it!

FACS1900 was the biggest possible waste of time. Far from any kind of survey course, she teaches what she knows, which is limited to very specific subjects. Her lectures are one-sided and boring. I have no idea how this course is in any way relevant, nevermind essential to all fine arts students. Try to get into a different section.

The professor herself seems quite knowledgable, however she fails to present the material in an interesting and informative manner. It's one of those lectures that you have to drag yourself to go to. Pro's: organized, punctual, knowledgable. Con's: boring, inarticulate, unapproachabe. Overall: I would not take another course with this prof again.
