He knows his stuff for sure, he has a difficult time conveying ideas though. I feel as if he's easily frustrated when he tries to explain things or tries to answer student questions. If you go get help outside of class it's a little better.

Not a bad class. At times he seems pretentious and agitated when you don't understand assignments but he's willing to help. You just have to make sure he knows you're having trouble. Do assignments exactly as they say. There were times I had it exactly right and was still counted off for something trivial.

This is was pretty easy. Plenty of time to do every assignment and open book/internet allowed on every test/quiz. Can be kinda abrasive, mostly when it comes to code errors. Besides that, he's a pretty laid back guy.

Very gruff and abrasive personality. He yells at students if he thinks they are not paying attention. That being said, his class is straightforward and he gives you everything you need to do the labs and homework. His tests and quizzes aren't too hard and are open book and open internet. Aside from his personality he is a pretty good professor.

Very fair professor! Allowed you to pick and choose which homework assignments you wanted. Regular, pre-announced quizzes. All quizzes and exams short-essay-answer format. Don't bother buying the book for Advanced Cryptography, you'll never open it.

Condescending, spiteful, and derisive. The second-worst professor I've had anywhere. Asked me *what* I was doing in *his* classroom when I dared to mention a slightly more advanced topic. Often says things such as "well obviously all of you are struggling with such a BASIC topic as this, so we can't move forward." Vague tests. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

One of the nicest professors I've ever had. You have to work for your grade (no easy As) but he gives you as much support as you need or want. He shares a lot of tips that are useful in real world programming and the assignments are relevant.

He's a pretty good teacher. He can seem a little condescending at times but it is not on purpose. A little more review and I would say that he's great. Short lectures, lots of grades, somewhat difficult tests. not bad.

Short and sweet, well kinda. The classes are short but will you bore you to tears... or to nap time. Stay on top of the many quizes, few (huge) assignments, and two tests. Studied little, could have studied more but still came out with the A.

Overall good prof; Lectures are boring but short, simple and straight to the point - class always ends early; Will help you as much as he can; Doesn't take attendance, but you'll fail 2301 unless your in class. Each set of chapters is prefaced with a quiz before each test. Just ask him questions and you'll do fine.

Hint: to do well in the test:take good notes and practice the examples he demostrates, any example he uses WRITE THEM DOWN!...don't buy the book and most important DO THE EXTRA CREDITS ASSIGMENTS! they are life savers...mid-term test HARD...final test EASY!. First half of class HARD then EASY!

Both 3530 and 3510 have 2 tests and multiple projects. Csis 3530 has 5 group projects. He does grade on a curve. His slides are easy to understand I never use the books. Tests and quizzes are very hard, but he is better than the alternatives.
