The only bad part about this was that he had to leave the class halfway through because of a medical crisis. He is one of the most amazing teachers/professors I have ever had, incredibly insightful and compassionate. If you care about the work, he will show you the world and he cares about YOU as a person too. He really took the time with me.

If you are not a good writer, you better be prepared. He will tear your paper apart (figuratively) if you do not have a well written paper. I think he is a great professor but do not expect to get by in the course without doing a lot of research!

He's so funny, and he's very intelligent. Always willing to provide his opinion on something. He could be more accepting of other people's opinions, but really, in his old age he's a lot more wise than any student could be.

This is hands down my favourite person, ever.Some people see it as him shooting down your ideas, but that is only if the idea you present is either closed minded, or completely uneducated. You can arrange to meet with him at any time of day. I encourage anyone to take a minute and pick his brain.you will walk away a richer person.

He lives to be an authority so he can tell everyone why they're wrong. He also seems to absolutely loathe the fact that not everyone in the faculty of music is interested in being an early music scholar.

Not really as passionate and wonderful as the others might have you believe! I have taken several courses with him, and although he has had a few great ideas, they are all stock that he uses in every course that he teaches. Kind of a crusty old man, also completely shoots down people who have opinions other than his!
