- Overall Rating: 4.0
- Course Difficulty: 1.0

Comment:
His class is heavy on participation (25%). There is no final exam and there are no midterms either. But, be prepared to read lots as there is an online quiz/test every class based on the textbook and class discussions. Do not buy the textbook as it can be found online. Attendance is mandatory as the entire class will evaluate you.

Comment:
No final or midterm, just a small quiz or test every day. Openminded and discusses both sides of the question/argument. Don't have to buy the textbook, it should be free online. Lots of group discussion, easy to talk to and only one short presentation. I fully recommend it. If you just read the book you are bound to pass with at least a 65% or 70%.

He is a very difficult grader and does't hand out high marks. Participation is a large portion of your grade but it's based on what the class gives you not what he thinks. He had no final or midterms but you end up doing more work because he has a quiz or test every class. I wouldn't recommend him or take one of his classes again.

This was a challenging class, but if you put in the effort you will learn a lot. It was highly participatory, which I liked. You will have to show up to class to get a good grade.

He does not hand out high marks, the questions on the quizes should be answered directly. and that's fine but imo, i would have enjoyed it a lot more if he would have been forthcoming about his expectations. ask him at the beginning of class what he wants to see in your answers but great class, good info and i learned a lot.

Comment:
Kleer's ECON 380 class isn't as hard as it used to be. It's broken up into several small assignments now. I think Dr. Kleer gets a bad rep because he's very critical of your work. Some people don't take constructive criticism well but I think his is extremely useful if you want to improve your writing. My only concern is that he gives low marks.

Comment:
Dr. Kleer is an extremely talented, intelligent and concerned professor, although he is very difficult to interpret at times. I hesitate to recommend him because I found his class to be too time consuming and emotionally frustrating. If you find pleasure in receiving 100% on one assignment and 30% on the next, then this is the class for you.

He expects his students to do work...might be a shock to some! If you do the work, he will help you and he does want you to learn. You have to go to class and you have to try. Very intelligent and his smile is really cool.

This class is a nightmare. You should consider switching your major out of Economics, rather than take this class from this particular professor. I don't have one good thing to say about this class, period.

Should have dropped the class after overhearing other students BEFORE the first class began! Be prepared to spend more time on this one class than all others, for a mark that does not reflect your abilities.

Greatest Econ Proff. Very Nice. No Text! No Final! A weekly quiz done on articles he provides. Articles can be lengthy and poorly written. Expect to read and study 4 hrs before class. Participate & read the articles - an easy A. Very intersting class too.

It is true you must participate and do all your readings. Is good if u like to write essays and express yourself. His teaching style involves you doing a lot of the learning on your own. But it is possible to do well if you work hard and follow his guidelines. Overall one of the best courses I've ever taken & learned a lot!

I took Econ100 for a social science requirement for my degree and loved it! I'm big into routine and this is the guy for it. PARTICIPATE OR DIE! The real cream of the crop is the 25% participation grade you get from the class. I got a better grade in this class than ALL of my other 3 years at university!

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD AND I HAVE HAD SOME BAD ONES. He is lazy and does not teach. 25% of the grade is participation the mark is decided by the class. 25% is on a presentation where the mark is decided by him asking the students that presented to leave the room then turning to the class and asking what their mark should be
