Parsons is the best professor I've had thus far. Everything you do in class is very deliberate and tends to add a lot to your personal and professional values. He always keeps you thinking and encourages you to get as much as you can from the program. Group was the most helpful class I have ever taken.

Although at times it was tough, theory with Dr. Parsons was my favorite class this past semester. He's by far, the most knowledgeable professor I've come across in the department. He's also a funny guy at times, but does take what he's doing seriously and that really benefits the students.

Prof. Parsons has a PhD. You can tell he is well-read and is a clear, concise writer. His classes reflect his knowledge of theories and the school counseling field as a whole. His motivation and 'interactive' style reflects his strong interest in 'making' counselors. Would take him for any class if I could.

My first experience in grad school and it was everything I expected. Dr. Parsons is the most challenging - stimulating - and thought provoking teacher I have ever had. He made the theories come alive - and helped me see the value of theory to practice. I hope to have in for many more classes.

the simplest way to describe the experience and Dr.P is ... you have to THINK. He really helped me learn to process client data develop meaningful hypothesis and then develop intervention plans...no spoon feeding...thank god.

My first graduate class...hard, demanding, yet truly valuable. He expanded my view of counseling to go well beyond thinking simply one-on-one, to include systems and prevention. The best teacher I've had in college..hope the rest of as good.

Very knowledgable professor. He wrote the class text book but is not cocky about it. Very approachable and always checks to make sure everyone understands the material. All powerpoints so you don't have to take too many notes. I would take him again!
