Comment:

While this review is pointless due to the fact that he is retiring after this semester, Super is a pretty good teacher. Because there is no textbook, coming to the lectures is extremely important, even though attendance is not mandatory. The novels he makes the class read are a bit difficult, but just read sparknotes & you should do fine!

Dr. Super's class was amazing, in my opinion. His lectures are really easy to follow. The only tough part is trying to get help outside of class. He can be tough and snippy towards his students but he knows what he's talking about. 3 tests, 1 paper.

Dr. Super may be an expert in the subject matter, but he does not care about his students. All he ever did was lecture every day (and sadly even though the material was interesting, he made it boring.) He is a tough grader, and as a history major, it is sad for me to say that this is the only class that I regret taking at Creighton.

Dr. Super was a great guy. Although lectures were sometimes dry, you could tell that he was very knowledgeable in the subject area. He hates when people walk in to class late and you can tell he liked certain people more than others, but overall I thought his Latin American History class was very interesting. No textbook, 3 novels, and 1 7 pg paper

He's been teaching at Creighton for over 30 years. He thinks he knows everything, and he treats his students as if they are insignificant/stupid. Doesn't offer extra help. The class itself is seemingly simple. A lot of memorization. Difficult grader, though, and will take points off if your answer is not word for word what he wants. Don't take him.

I disagree with what has been said so far. Dr. Super knows his stuff. Tests are fairly easy if you just know the terms on the study sheet (which are just major terms from the lectures) he gives you beforehand. Admittedly his questions in class can be on the vague side, but this doesnt matter for your grade, so who cares? Good prof, I'd take again

If you take his class make sure you get on his good side by not being late. His tests aren't that bad but you have to be able to summarize the concepts. He gives a study guide and there is a paper. If teachers like you take this class for History, if not don't. Grade is definitely related to whether he likes you or not.

As a person, he's pretty nice, but as a professor he's not that great. His tests are unreasonable. Only 2 questions, first is identifying, and the other is one BIG summarization of the entire lecture done up to the test. Sometimes its hard to hear him too, because he drowns out, and the lectures can be pretty boring.

His first name says it all....Dick. Shows no respect for students and definately grades on who you are and not what you know. Admits he is a tenure faculty member and doesn't really care. Avoid this super dick at all costs!!!!!

Not an easy class. Dr. Super is a very tough grader. I learned quite a bit, but I didn't enjoy the class as much as I'd hoped. He's very enthusiastic about the course material, but he doesn't share that with his students very well.
